I know one day soon I want to move so I'll be quitting. These guys are gonna be so fucked. We are already understaffed and training takes three months. Burn baby burn.

How does anyone not see that as an issue? It just goes to show how shit nowadays is way too expensive and so much money has to be spent compared to back then Does it not?

Service industry. Paycheck to paycheck. I get 2 days off a week . I… uh… oof, we're getting a little emotional here now. Ok, rant time I guess! I feel like I'm drowning. Just straight up; not happy, ever. I can fake it. I do quite often; but like… How is this ok? I see coworkers and regulars more than I see my partner. I don't even have health insurance. Haven't for years. My feet always hurt, my back goes out every once in a while, and my sleep debt is in just as bad of shape as the rest of my debt. Both a gallon of gas and a pound of ground beef are above $5, and nukes are being teased after a global pandemic in which I was deemed “essential” pre-vaccine. What the fuck is wrong with the US? We're not ok.

A Restaurant contacted me about a job I applied for a month or so ago, and then hung up on me when I asked about job specifications, I called back and made sure it wasn't a miscommunication, nope, but here is how that went Me-“Hi, I was calling back to make sure you heard that I was asking about job specifications, I am still interested but, I don't want to waste your time on an interview if its not…” Them-“No, I heard you, but I found another candidate” Me-“So you aren't interested because I asked about specification about the job” Them -“Yes, we are going with another candidate” Me- “Ok Ill let other people know” All I wanted to know was the rate of pay, benefits ect, because I applied a month or more ago and didn't have the job listing pulled up, they didn't even say what the position…

My area is just starting to open bars back up, and the bar I used to manage is closed for good, so I’m back looking for some work. Had an interview with a bar owner yesterday, met at 2:30, I noticed online that they open at 5. Halfway through the interview some guy walks in, notices all the lights are dim and there is no music, and asks if they are open. They lady says “yeah yeah, of course, have a seat.” And walks off to turn the lights on and put on some music. She then looks over at me and motions over to the bar. Like what? Ok I guess I’m doing this, walk back there, first time behind her bar, she grabs a pint glass and starts pouring the guys beer, I stopped her, grab the glass, put onto the glass washer, like fucking hell lady, place…

Or they would bring in more foreign workers who will be happy with low wages, but at least we would be trying!
