I'm only a high schooler, graduating next year. For the past year and a half I've applied online (and walked into businesses in person) for more positions than I could count, at almost any company within my range of transportation, because I need to start saving for my education, as I intend to study abroad. But I got ghosted by EVERY company and location I applied for. There is nothing wrong with my resume (I got it checked over by several of my high school teachers in desperation and it is flawless according to them), but I'd never get a response from ANYONE, aside from the ocasional automated rejection email 6 months later. I'm sick of this, I'm gonna need to work while I'm in college/uni, and when (if) I get my degree, what if I still keep getting ghosted? Wtf am I supposed to to? I'm just a high…
Engagement is a measure of how willing you are to donate your life to achieve your employer's shareholders gains in wealth. Please note, it has nothing to do with actually being paid more, being happier in your life and being able to spend more time doing what you desire rather than being able to pay your bills. Engagement is in the owner's interest, not yours: Employee engagement describes the level of enthusiasm and dedication a worker feels toward their job. Employee engagement can be critical to a company's success, given its links to job satisfaction and employee morale. Engaged employees are more likely to be productive and higher performing. Employers can foster employee engagement through effective communication, offering rewards, and discussing career advancement. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/e/employee-engagement.asp The happier you are at the grindstone, the more likely their profit increases.
So, I work at Chipotle. Just started and I've been contemplating quitting from what I see about Chipotle from this community but I've stayed for tuition reimbursement they have. But now, Chipotle can FUCK ALL THE WAY OFF. 1. If you work a shift, the food is free if you eat there but they charge 50%if you take the food home and 2. You can only get discounts at the Chipotle location you work at so I can't even go to another location that's closer to my home and get a discount. I offically quit. They make it seem like they're a great company w the “benefits” they have but will try to fuck you out of every single one on technicalities. I was told I would need to work 16hrs a week for 120 days to be able to qualify for tuition reimbursement ( this is what they advertise…
“Similar to r/antiwork”
Boss's boss offered me a raise if I transfered to his office, I ofc said yes. Boss's Boss changes his mind because my boss threw a fit, now my Boss's office manager is changing everyone schedule. I'm legit so fucking sick of it. Like bruh, can you just not?
On call schedule
I started a job recently, it’s in a field similar to social work. When I applied the job stated that it included a flexible work schedule. I interview, and I tell all management (3 people) that I am teaching classes as an adjunct, and because academia is my goal, I would need to be able to continue that. Ff, the “on call” time is much more than I anticipated ( I was called out from 9-2 Saturday, and again from 5-9 that morning) And my manager is giving me shit for teaching a class… Everyone in my office works from home, except me (as I live in town) so I’m expected to be in the office daily. Last week we had a snow storm, and I am one of the only people with kids.. everyone else wasn’t expected to go into the office, but when I asked to work from…
