Caveat – I think it's abhorrent when ANY person (irrespective of education level) can't afford food, shelter, and medical services. I also hate how poorly educators, people in child services, important areas of research and other truly essential functions are paid in the US. It's a joke. However, there are certain posts in this forum that are irritating and detract from other serious antiwork issues that need more discussion. One is where the degree, masters or PhD in question has an historically crap salary outlook and people are still surprised when they get exactly that. Be me. Got sick months ago. Work tells me “get a doctor's note to get your unpaid time off back.” Do what job says. Be off the schedule for two months. Now be me: two months of no pay later. Put back on the schedule. Work says I missed a week's worth of work and took my unpaid time off back from me. Let it be known, that I JUST got put back on the schedule today and they said I missed work. I wasn't scheduled for work throughout all of last week. I've made sure to check the employee app every day to make sure I wasn't missing anything. And they arbitrarily put me down as absent for days I wasn't suppose to work and took my unpaid time off away for it. I'm thinking of resigning, but I've already put a corporate voucher up for courses that'll get…
