In an interview has anyone told their potential employer what they cost rather than ask what the employer pays?

I'm curious how that would go. “Hi, my name is Jane, here are my qualifications. I cost $27/hr and 3 weeks PTO. “

2 Jobs with Some Overlapping Working Hours

Is it legal to have 2 jobs at the same time when the hours of the 2 jobs have some overlap ? For context : – both jobs are WFH, don't have to be physically there – there is a 2 hour overlap between the times (1st job starts at 6am-3pm the other is 1pm – 10pm but if flexible most of the time) – 1 of these jobs is just for additional income, isn't intended to be kept for long – though there is an overlap, can still deliver for both jobs since the work for one of them can de done in less than the number of hours in the day; the hours are really there just for formality and to account for hourly pay

PPP Loan Abuse?

I recently checked out a local business in my hometown of which I personally know the owners. The couple owns a well-known Midwest fast food franchise. At the height of the pandemic they shut their lobby and kept the drive-thru open and I recall a conversation with the owner where she stated that they haven’t noticed a slump in sales because of having to do so. These owners recently built a $650k home on a river, brand new GMC Denali vehicles every year, bragged how their new lawn mower was $19k, and these people received $146k in PPP government loans with the reason being “payroll”. I would bet my year’s salary that not one employee that works for them has gotten a raise since the pandemic and these people get $146k of a forgivable loan for “payroll.”

I’ve finally found balance with my job

After getting my finances in check. I’ve finally found balance with my job that requires long shifts. On paper I work 12 hour shifts (7am-7pm) with 2 hours of paid breaks. I get $18/day for lunch allowance as well. However, we start cleaning up by 5:45pm and usually leave by 6pm. It’s a small perk that the upper management doesn’t know about. Regardless of these perks, it still takes a toll working these hours. I have no life during the week. I don’t have the energy to do anything, let alone trying to maintain my workout routine. So, the balance that I’ve created and now have found happiness with my job and most importantly myself. For the last 2 years I’ve been taking 4 months off work. During this time I collect unemployment. I’m union and my work just lays me off when I want time off. Though, unemployment pays…

**Fired From Remote Job**

This will not be a typical thread. This is a win in my opinion for this movement. To back up, back in April 2021, I accepted a job for a conglomerate company, who’s sub company was hiring sales representatives to sell water brands within a territory. With less than a week until my first day, I’m laid off plus 29 other people because a contract fell through. I’m without work. I have a family, a new born daughter. It’s a shitty situation. I’m unemployed for 3.5 months. I start interviewing in July 2021, and by beginning of August, I have two job offers. A director of sales position for a small craft beverage company, and a remote sales position for a data company. The Data company is owned by the same company that laid me off in April. I decide to take both and knowingly not work the Data job.…

Tipped the pizza guy 80 bucks, cause why not.

Fiancé was out for the night so I ordered pizza, said I would pay in cash when ordering through the app. Fiancé took the keys with the safe key on it, so I had no access to our cash, all I had was as a $100 in my wallet. When I gave it to the guy he immediately reached for change, no questions asked. I immediately said no change, that’s all you, I appreciate what you do. Guy looked at me in disbelief and said “are you sure, that’s a huge tip”. Gave him a fist bump and told him yes. Go out there Connor!

Quit because the owner wanted me to cut everyone’s pay and every employee quit as well.

Years ago I was a manager at a sandwich shop and the owner sold the franchise. About 90% of the employees had been working at the shop for years. Our labor to sales ratio was always great and the employees made a halfway decent living. The moral was high and the customers could tell. The new owner decides that in order to maximize profit he wants me to cut everyone's pay because “You can hire people for minimum wage, why should I be paying people over $10/h?”. I tried telling him that these guys have been working here for years and the customers like that and our labor costs are better than any of the other stores. I basically just ignored his request and after the next pay day he called me up pissed. I tell him if he wants to cut everyone's pay then he has to tell them…
