Because I guess our college educated corporate offices are either too stupid or lazy to find the total themselves. What a joke.
So the government will let me take out $140k as an 18 year old with no collateral or credit check… but won’t let me take out a business loan of more than $25k to start a business without collateral? Even with good credit?? I am ranting here. But I am tired of working under somebody. I want to open my own business. My only debt is my school debt which is about to be due in a couple months. Bill Clinton is seriously an evil person (started the huge amounts of school loans that can be loaned out, also incarcerated so many minorities). It’s just mind blowing that in order to make money, as a worker a college degree is essential. Can barely get a job as a Secretary without one. so they’ll give you egregious amounts in loans, but won’t loan people the capital to fund their own business…
I can't work a job knowing I'll be making the same (technically less with inflation) for the foreseable future, but knowing I'm moving towards something keeps me going. Also join a union.
New Job vs Old Job
Just thought I’d share my story on here, but keep it short and sweet! Old Job- About a year and a half ago, I graduated High School and decided to go into the trades. Started with a construction company under a 4 year apprentice program, studying to be a plumber. That meant 40-50 hour weeks, 7am every morning (some job sites were almost an hour away from me, I typically left for work at 6) Monday through Friday, sometimes Saturday, doing both all the work that the skilled workers didn’t want to do, and helping out with big projects. All this for $12 an hour. I did this every day, sticking with it, until about 8 months in, I woke up with terrible back pain, only to find out I had a slipped disc. The company offered nothing to help me get back on my feet, and actually fired me…
Should I stay on EI
Living in Ontario Canada. Was fired from my job last year and qualified for EI, approved from July 2021 thru to July 2022. I have been continually looking for a new job but haven’t landed one yet, and a lot of places don’t even pay what I’m being paid on EI. Is there any drawback to staying on EI for the entire approved year? I imagine I may end up owing on my income tax but not sure. This has worked well for me in that it allows me to care for sick family member. I also hate the idea of going back to shitty work for a shitty boss with a shitty commute, for less money than I’m being paid to stay home.
I am an experienced software engineer and often get lots of messages from recruiters on LinkedIn, including Amazon. For a while, I've just been ignoring Amazon recruiters but I want to be a bit more active in my rejection. Please help me draft a reply to send to amazon recruiters so they know the horrible practices as I reject them, Also, you should boycott amazon if you're not already.
Hey, I'm spanish and currently studying a degree in something related to laboral and work law in the country. I think it would be interesting for anyone here reading this to know how is it going here and compare it with their own countries. Sorry for any spelling mistakes that could be in the following wall of text, I'm confident I can write everything I want to say in english but there could be some mistakes or misspellings that I hope won't ruin the reading. As a disclaimer: I'm not writting this as a way to tell you how bad is your country and how well are we doing here, this is not targeted to americans but to fellow europeans too. Salary: -Minimum wage recently increased from 13.510€ to 14.000€ (anual) -Salaries in spain are usually paid monthly, with a minimum per day, and we recieve at least 2…
From what I understand, it’s widely accepted that whether you’re an employee or an employer comes down to your personality, your risk tolerance etc. So what this means if I continue with this train of thought is that there’s a personality that rises to the top and if you don’t have it then… well why would you want to take risk in the first place? Because massive risks, massive rewards. Why might you want massive rewards? Because you want a lot of experiences out of life, and to be able to be the executive director of your life, the party host, so instead of just “wishing” to be rich as an employee might do, you truly wanted to, so you went the entrepreneurial route, became a “job provider/creator” which makes you sound so sweet, but what you were really trying to do is enjoy your own party. You hire a…
