So they want to keep me on “to pay me” through the end of March, which is good, but they also want me to train my fucking replacement? Am I like, required to do this for them to pay me? Their reasons for firing me were simply that it’s “not working out.” I have worked here for 2 years, during which my brother killed himself, and I only took 5 days off and then came to work every single day and busted my ass. I’m just so upset and don’t know what my options are.
Was a general manager overseeing 24 employees in a luxury industry until the lockdown. Have spent countless hours looking for a proper job (livable wages, benefits) and customizing my cover letter for each job I apply to and I have yet to be even offered an interview. Wondering if many of the “available jobs” out there are companies fishing but not hiring OR menial jobs. Shocked how, despite my experience / qualifications, I cannot manage to find either an in person or remote (most ideal) living wage job in any industry. How are people managing?
Leaving work after 6.5 years
Yesterday I gave my 2 weeks notice to my boss. I have been working for this company in a low management position since November 2015. I was one of the first employees of this company and I'm the most senior one. and just like this, 6 years of hard work and effort disappear. I'm now happier than I've made this decision, and I will never put work in front of my mental health ever again.
You love to see it.
We recently got new management, I’ve been with this company for 3 years next week. I have never been in any sort of trouble until last month. Since then I’ve been written up three times over nothing. I was in management at a healthcare facility, part of my job is to adjust my own hours to ensure that my responsibilities are taken care of. Apparently that’s not okay anymore, even though it’s in my job description and had never been an issue before as long as I got my 40 hours in and didn’t go unreasonably over 40 without justification. One thing that really got me, is last Friday I was written up for it, and during our meeting, my boss told me that she doesn’t hold any of the department heads to a strict start time because we have to adjust our hours to meet needs. I came in…
