My boss requested to our IT department to monitor the email of someone on my staff. I sent a follow up email that I did not want want access to the email account as I am not comfortable doing this without the staff member knowing about it. I know our employee manual states that email communication is property of the company and that if warranted can be monitored. So now my boss will have access but I took a pass on it. Thoughts?
This place is BS
I’ve worked at this company for 5 years now and I might not of always liked the work but it was an easy enough job and it paid the bills, but in November of 2020 we were bought out by a big corporate auto dealership and things have just been going down hill. They switched our pay from hourly too flat rate (which if you don’t know it’s like a more complicated commission based off a set hourly rate) and if we didn’t agree we could leave. Our work load has near tripled, we’re treated like shit by the new management they brought in and when we complained about everything we were told “You need to change your mindset to better yourselves as people and employees.” Essentially telling us ‘we’re not the problem, you wanting better conditions is the problem.’ But the health insurance is really good and I’m making…
Petty Manager
I work in healthcare and just left an extremely toxic environment. I was a receptionist. I brought up some issues about a coworker constantly being late.. like 30+ minutes late and being overwhelmed due to the amount of patients I was having to check in. I also learned this new employee makes a dollar more than I do. My other receptionist coworker constantly called in. She called in every Friday or Monday because she would go out of state to see her boyfriend. She Didn't have any Vacation time to use because she just started. This is a personal friend of the managers, so she was never written up for it. My niece passed away due to a heart issue and I was denied bereavement leave because the manager stated that wasn't a close enough relationship to qualify for bereavement. The manager above my manager gave me leave after hearing…
Should I quit today or wait?
My boss called me this morning to let me know she won’t be there when I get in at 1 PM. She also called to asked me if anything was wrong because I have been acting differently… I pretty much broke down and told her that yeah something is wrong, it’s her. The way she addresses me, the frequency of how she talks down to me and how I just feel like I’m not doing anything right. I know I do my job decently (always room to learn and grow), I don’t cut corners and I get all the background work done for everyone else (which seems to go unnoticed). I don’t necessarily need this job, although it’s the highest paid job I’ve ever gotten. We talked about setting up a meeting with her supervisor, the president of the company but to be honest I don’t think any change will…
Requesting bad reviews
Reposting cuz I didn't know you couldn't do shortened links. The owner of my workplace has cut hours and fired people to the point where we are expected to do 2 or 3 people's jobs at once. He's always worried about our Google reviews so I wanted to thank them before I left. ULPT suggested posting it here, hopefully it's not against the rules but if you have a second and want to help an overworked fella out, please post a bad review. It can be just one star, if you wanna complain about prices or wait times or understaffing that's just the icing on top. Thanks folks. bad reviews here&ludocid=8545148764695591561&gsas=1&client=ms-android-bell-ca-revc&lsig=AB86z5XdwZQM47lJndphtn3ZmRzA&kgs=1b8548df0df80d95&shndl=-1&source=sh/x/kp/local/4&entrypoint=sh/x/kp/local) If this is against the rules take it down.
Interviewed for a new job and received promises that it was a WFH position. Got the job, started working and was then told that WFH is “a privilege that must be earned” by (of course) achieving certain production goals that may or may not be realistic. This week I learned that once we're out of training, we'll be able to pick up as much as 10h of OT per week. Since that's how much time I spend driving to and from work per week, I'm thinking that's a gonna be a no from me, dawg.
Should I quit my call center job ?
I was looking for a job to help pay for college. I applied to dozens of jobs and I literally only heard back from one Job. A remote call center job. I just finished training and took my first calls yesterday. I hated it. Idk why I thought it was a good idea. I hate people. I hate talking on phones. I hate talking to strangers. But my job is just that, talking to angry strangers on the phone about why they were charged so much. It drives my anxiety insane. I had a nightmare about the job. Guess what the pay is? $8/hr. I hate the pay and I hate the job, but I can't seem to find anywhere else that will hire me. I do need money for college, so idk what to do. I don't want to disappoint my parents by me quitting in less than a…
