I noticed my paycheck this week looked small compared to what I’m used to for my hours worked, and wouldn’t you know? An entire day’s worth of pay at my wage (roughly $140) went straight to taxes. Federal tax, state tax, city tax. A day’s labor gone to line the pockets of my local politicians, my house representatives, and the American war machine. I can barely afford rent. $140 makes a massive difference on my bills at my income level. I believe in paying taxes (if they’re used well, which, if you live in America, you know they’re not) but this is absurd. There has to be a way to tax the population so that we get things like roads, schools, socialized medicine, etc. Without it coming straight from a day of my labor. Uncle Sam was not there helping me get my work done.

Hi, this is my first post here ! So i work for a big Bank, I initially worked full time here, but due to personal obligations, I opted part time instead. The company still paid me more or less the same amount with a few deductions – nothing too big. Fast forward 4 months doing part time, I get a call from my manager and then asks me are you getting paid in full ? – I told him about the deductions that were minor. He then calls me and asks me to share my payslips with him and then ends up telling me, I might have all of my future salary deducted to compensate their mistake for overpaying 4 months, which means no salary for the upcoming months and they expect me to work for free. Sorry for the bad grammar, I'm just looking for help here. Please guys…

Let’s be honest – it really shouldn’t be. There mission statement “To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.” Isn’t even accurate. The Y-Kids program is essentially a daycare service. If they were trying to put Christian principles into practice, there would be bible time, there would be prayers before meals, etc. However, I’ve never seen that happen. The only christian principle I’ve seen them maintain is Homophobia & Transphobia. Yes, taking care of your body is a Christian ideal, however the YMCA doesn’t do this without a profit margin. That would be like McDonalds calling themselves a nonprofit because they serve food to the community. They still make a profit off of this! The YMCA USA CEO makes about 1/2 a million per year. Meanwhile when I worked for the local Y they couldn’t afford to pay me $9 per…

I’m crossposting this from r/trueoffmychest So the place I applied you have to have at least two people apply for the position to go forward or they’ll pull it. I was the only one who applied so they just pulled the position despite needing people. I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry. I was told I was the perfect fit and had all of the qualifications. It had a great salary too. I feel like I got my hopes up for nothing.
