turns out there was nothing to figure out all along

I've lived here since the end of June 2021. Sue me, but I didn't even remeber/realize that I was /suppost/ to be paying $30 a month for water, for some reason I was under the impression the water was included in the rent. Regardless, I am just paying rent as normal, then all of a sudden I get smacked with SEVEN MONTHS worth of water charges they forgot to charge me. I truly don't understand how it's even allowed for them to do that…. There has to be a way to get this lowered or not pay it. I rent from a very large management company (Omnikey in Texas) and they are famous for fucking over tenents. Somehow everyone ended up on the same page when it comes to certain institutions being controlled by the people who compose them, but most institutions are still just fiefdoms with some human rights tacked on. By tolerating non-democratic institutions within our borders we invite the decline of democracy in every institution.

Hi guys, Yesterday I couldn't concentrate on my work: I have family in Russia and Ukraine. I had a nervous breakdown and texted my boss that I couldn't work. I didn't call him, because I did not want him to witness me sobbing and hysterical. He replied quite dryly that I had to call him when I just left work, that I had a meeting and I was letting him down and that I hadn't booked an absence in my calendar. He also planned a meeting today. I was calm, not my smiley happy self, but not bitchy or anything. In the span of 30 minutes he managed to get me hysterically sobbing. Been stalking here for sometime and decided to share my story of a bad company and boss. TL:DR at the bottom. A few years ago I used to work at an office supply retail company, I worked from recieveing and working trucks in the morning into management. I really did love the job, but that didn't last. Well there came a time where over half of the management quit within one month of each other. It was down to me, the operations manager, and the assistant store manager, Steven. The company wouldn't let either of us work overtime to try and pick up the slack. Since they wouldn't I had to stretch my 40 hours over six days a week. I had to be clocked out while waiting for Steven to get on because he worked open to close Sundays so during the week he got on later than I…

So, looking at a lot of the posts here, the formula seems to be: I hate my job, I quit, I found a better job; cool. I get it, and I agree. But, I would suggest that after you find a job that appreciates you, and is paying you what you’re worth, don’t get too comfortable. Work on learning an additional skill. I’m not saying everyone learn how to write code, or teach themselves to be a mechanic by taking their car apart. But, every community college has a continuing education program that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg – take a look at what they have to offer. And before the rocks start flying in my direction, as much as you like your new job, do you see it as your forever job? Have a good one.

I am referring to any & all kinds of dishonesty, not just bald faced lies. White lies, omission of truth, feigning ignorance, etc. I'm realizing that this is the core reason that I have quit my last 4 jobs due to the stress it causes, and would like to aim myself towards a career path that 100% embraces honesty.

I get migraines fairly often especially when I'm sick (not often enough to be chronic but probably a few times a month). And since I was already feeling really bad and I had a migraine I decided to call off for the day. I call my boss and let him and he begrudgingly says ok (like he could just make me come in to work). But before he hangs up I overhear him talking to a coworker of mine saying why do they always lie about being sick. This is my first sick day after working here for a few months. I have to work two jobs because this one only pays me 11 an hour to do several jobs including being the buildings janitor. I wanted to share my recent experiences while looking for work. Fair warning this is just me venting my frustrations. A bit of background I worked as an accountant and left a position in June of last year as I had burned out and had started to experience physical and mental side effects. I took a bit of time to myself and started looking for positions. It took a while but I finally got an interview for a firm in November, this was my first interview since leaving my previous position, I went through the interview process and expected to hear back with good news. When I did hear back I was told they where going to pursue other candidates and I emailed and asked what the reason was that they decided to not continue with me as a candidate and was told basically the senior managers didn't like that…
