Ukraine has been left alone to fight this war. For all of you wonderful people praying for Ukraine or showing solidarity – thank you. But, there’s a way you can help save Ukrainian lives. Don’t show up to work. Don’t go shopping. Stage protests. STRIKE. Hear me out: Biden and NATO have been very clear that they are ultimately being opportunists here. They are using Ukraine as the sacrificial lamb in order to play a long game where the Russian economy becomes irreparably damaged. They are using Ukraine as a buffer zone, a barricade behind which they can hide in order to mount their defense instead of just admitting Ukraine into NATO or making some special provision, and hence no troops from any country have yet to join Ukrainian troops here. What to do? GENERAL STRIKE – It’s 6am here, and with 130 innocent Ukrainians killed and over 300 wounded…
Exhausted Love Lyrics [Intro] To hell with the kind of work you have to do to earn a living All it does is fill the bellies of the pigs who exploit us Look at me, I'm makin' it, I may live badly But at least I don't have to work to do it To all you workers out there: every single commodity you produce Is a piece of your own death! End of interview! [Verse 1] I'm so goddamn tired, can't tell if I'm done, or just uninspired And don't give me that “you can be somebody” speech That ain't your place, let me be I'm an example of a candle lit life With electric relaxation, brain trampled by devotion To remote control channel changin' Something provoked the whole globe to lower expectations Damn, what's wrong with my generation? We was the cream of the crop, but it seems we've…
Poseidon Adventure
Tired of the run around
In September of 2020 I started working at a non-chain restaurant. They were pretty good to me st first, but I was a college graduate and wanted a more stable income with benefits, so in Jan 2021 I started working on a certification. I talked to them a lot throughout the process, the owner seemed really happy and excited for me. Come August 2021 I had completed my certification and had a job offer. The owner started to get really combative with me. They would try to argue that I could make more money waiting tables, which while that may be true from an hourly perspective, my new job offered PTO, sick days, continued education, health insurance, and a 401k. Not to mention the lack of stress from not having to kiss ass all day and shifts that end at a reasonable hour. The only other waitress that worked there…
I worked for a large international company for about four years. I recently started looking for other job opportunities since it seemed like it was going nowhere. In comes Hometown Equity Mortgage (DBA TheLender) . They offer me a position with a decent salary and commission structure, with the option to go to a lower hourly rate and higher commission once established. I accepted the offer for the set salary and quit my job. Two days before my start date, their HR department called me and stated that they are no longer offering the compensation we agreed upon. They are now offering minimum wage with slightly higher commission. The hiring manager stated that they don't normally see new hires start closing until two months in. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don't.
This is amazing to me. So I live in the Northeast. We're projected to get as much as much as 5-10 inches of snow tomorrow. Okay, so I call in and tell my work in case of a snowstorm I won't be coming in. My boss sighs, says okay but we will need to talk about my call outs. Now I only usually call out once every few months but we've had 3 snowstorms within the span of a month. I've called out each time. I'm not risking my life going into work a job that pays barely above minimum wage. Are they short staffed? Sure, but how is that my problem? When I break my back working here, I think I've earned a little bit more respect than the need to be “talked” to for not wanting to do a half hour drive in a snowstorm.
