My last paycheck is legitimately 1 day. But if he thinks he can not pay me he think he can do that to everyone. He's an old piece of shit and refuses to take my time card. He said he will call the police if k contact him or his wife ( who runs his books and is a whole other level of shady ) how can I go about getting my last paycheck? I do not want to go back to his property( shop is at his house as well) as he will call the cops.
I was promised my annual raise 6 months ago and was told it was going to be a 2-3 dollar increase. My employer notified me earlier this month that my raise went into effect on my last paycheck (6 months later, after asking 3x about it). I took a look and they gave me a $.50 raise. Literally a few days later I got a job offer making almost double of what I’m making now (the universe is wild). I put in my 2 weeks and my last day is tomorrow. While cleaning out my office this week, I went into the printer room and noticed my manager printed a job description for my position so they can hire someone new. The pay rate is 3 dollars more than what I’m making now – the amount I was promised but I got 50 cents instead. I start my new job…
One day a week mandate
I am getting word that my company will be mandating employees to come back into the office – ONCE A WEEK! And no specific days. So they will tether employees to one of the most expensive cities (Washington, DC) for….? At least with two days they could pretend it's building back culture or something? But one! I LOL'ed when I heard! I cannot see how they can justify it in a logical way (I know – none of back to office really makes sense in general.) One day a week is like going into a big coffee shop and maybe seeing someone you recognize here and there. Has anyone else heard of or experiences this one day mandate? I feel like it's a 30 Rock episode.
So today is the day I give up
This all started a few days ago when management told me to do the trash with a very harsh words along with it I said sure but ask me nicer next time. BOOM shit hit the fan for me standing up for myself. So her and I have it out over 20 minutes or so. She accuses me of a lot and adds more and more bullshit to the story. Today the owner of the restaurant I used to work for. He got involved and I got the blame for it all. He then went off his head because of the drama, his last words to me before he stormed off was “you better watch yourself cause I can see a good fist in your face from me you keep your shit up” he then slammed the door on my face. When a owner starts threatening the employee with physical…
I earned my CNA license recently after working in various assisted living facilities starting at 18 years of age. After earning my CNA I was able to open up doors to various job opportunities such as working in a hospital setting. I applied to one of the major hospitals in my area. I figured getting a job there wouldn't be an issue mainly due to the pandemic. I also saw on my local news network that they were urgently hiring CNAs. Out of my surprise I hear back from them and they scheduled an interview with me. Mind you the pay was going to be $`13.50 an hour… But I suppose you “gotta start somewhere”… The RN interviewed me via Microsoft Meets, and she went over the daily routine with me and everything. I don't exactly remember all my answers during the interview… But all I know is that my…
Fits like a glove here.
I am/was a barista at a local pie shop. I was hired in October after I quit my old barista job for being discriminated against and bullied daily by upper management… I wont even get into THAT So at the interview they tell me I make $15 but that I get cash + electronic tips and split it w the people who worked that day (max 4). We get our tips every 2 weeks. Cool cool, i get a free meal per shift. Because this is a local business, at the end of the night I have to count & close the drawer. So I see how much we make in tips per day. I “make” an average of $30 a day in tips. Not for nothing, I’m great with customers and work hard The first time I get mt tips, they seem a bit skinny to me. My coworker…
…swirled to perfection.
Back in the summer of 1999, I took a job in the mall working at Orange Julius. Despite being a young teenager, I quickly became the best and most responsible workers that they had. Most of my coworkers were older burnouts and felons. A real hive of scum and villainy (and smoothies and hot dogs.) At 15 years old I was entrusted to open and close the store, handle all of the money, food, and registers. I did everything you could possibly do in that store, and I did it well. Come raise time, the store manager gave me a stellar review, but I still had to take a written test that was required by Orange Julius corporate. The results would determine the amount of my hourly raise. I ace the written test, but the manager informs me that she CANNOT give me the maximum 30 cents per hour raise…
