Not getting my w2

Rightnat the start of covid i lost my job, and i took a job as a bed bug exterminator. I was so glad to have a job during covid that i put up with alot of shit. Shit like i was forced to leave thanksgiving dinner with my family b.c my boss had lost his key to his home. And i hat the only copy. Boss was shitty, always late on checks, super late on w2 blah blah. Fastforward to I quit and got a new job; all I need from him is my last w2. I texted him on feb 1st asking if he was able to send it and my updated address; to witch he responded he would get right on it. Bear in mind at this point he is already late, w2s are required by law to be post marked by the 31st of January. It is…

Petsonal cell phone use for work related calls is just expected.

Does not happen very often. I worked at a rehab center as a therapist. When reaching out to clients to assess them before arrival we were required to call them and no work place phones were provided. Anyone else have stories like this where their workplace expected them to provide the tools for the job?

Finding work-life balance is complete fucking bullshit, here’s why:

I’ve been 9-5 since I was 16. I’m 25 now. Coincidentally I’ve been abusing weed for the exact same period – until last month when I quit. I’ve realized that I have been medicating myself to accept the draining setup that 9-5 is. Only now, after quitting, I can’t accept it anymore. People say one of these two things when you complain about societies modern slavery: “Find something that excites you! It’ll feel like never working a day again in your life!” Bull. Fucking. Shit. I’m living proof, that no matter what the fuck you do for a job, it’s shit as long as it’s 9-5. I could do fucking cocaine for a living, and I’d still be spiritually drained, trading 5 days of work for 2 days of freedom, confined to a physical (jail)workplace. This saying has just been developed to help people believe in a nonexistent unicorn, the…

“This role isn’t for everyone”

We had a two-person team. You hired a more experienced person to join our team. You gave him all the work things that were supposed to come to me. You gave the other guy more attention and more work to go after. What did I get? Totally screwed. When I asked for more, so I can do my job, there was suddenly nothing. Yeah of course I couldn't keep up. You gave me a reason for being fired that I showed you I had no control over several days/weeks ago. You said I was wrong, even though it was very clear. So instead you said, “This role isn't for everyone.” I put in more effort struggling to keep up and barely doing the minimum. Imagine how amazing I would've been if I'd been treated fairly. So long underpaying job. I struggled 6 months to get that job. Something I could…

What is the minimum monthly amount you’d be willing to retire forever?

I know that this might have been asked several times and that it widely varies across regions. So, the question is: What is the minimum monthly amount that, if you could somehow ensure it forever, you would be willing to retire right now and never work again? Please also provide your country. This amount should include all your basic needs plus anything you'd desire in order to maintain about the same quality of life you have today (unless you'd be willing to sacrifice some of it). You can assume this amount forever regardless of inflation. Do not assume any of your existing assets (except housing if you have your own house).

When you and your team are already overworked but instead of hiring more headcount, the job decides to blend two overburdened groups to “maximize efficiency”. FML.

I work for a Fortune 500 tech company in a highly technically demanding phone support queue for high-end hyperconverged enterprise servers. The skill ceiling is high and the training was utterly worthless and for the last 9 months of working this post, my mental health has taken a bad beating. Whenever I have tried to call attention to the flaws in the system I get ignored or bullied by management with the “you’re lucky to have a job” BS. Me and my teammates are always busy and if I had to put a percentage, an average day has us working on some case or another for our customers at least 85% of the day. Often times we work late. We have been crying for headcount for months. So they get this great idea to combine our chat and phone queues into one “super queue” and I about came unglued. I…
