Let’s propose we start a small city. Three problems to overcome. 1-energy. 2-food. 3-waste. Solution to problem number one. Fully autonomous nuclear reactor to power the city. The fully autonomous nuclear reactor would be ran by Boston dynamics style robots. The robots would be (I’ll propose a statistic) 90% self maintained. Solution to problem two. Robotic farms could account for most of farm labor. Farming is largely timing and equipment. The Boston dynamics style robots can run heavy machinery and perhaps even export crops in order to trade for more variety in the food. Solution number three. I’ve been making this post up on the fly, as I go. I will probably edit it when I proof read it so, create small waste treatment plants, ONCE AGAIN ran by robots.

Is there anything we can do? We worked for a hotel and together we submitted individual wage claims to CA Labor Board. We then sent our former employer a letter informing them of our claims (all combined in one to show a united front). Our group is comprised of former employees, but we are still friends with current employees. The wage claims are for missed lunches, breaks, no paid OT. Two of these current employees told us that the employer called them into a meeting and asked them to write a statement that would provide a contradiction to our claim, but they are asking them to lie. These employees are legit scared. When I asked them if they were going to go along with what the employer asked them to do, they said they couldn’t see another way. Is there anything we can do, legally? I feel like our hands…
In America, we portray the politically influential rich elite in other countries, especially Russia, as oligarchs who nefariously work to deprive their fellow countrymen through their connections and their wealth. How are Bezos, Musk, etc. functionally any different, and why should we treat them any differently?
These things are built already. Lets just live in them.
I’ve got nothing but love for this sub.
I don't have a exciting text message or video screenshot to tell you. But what I do have is my dignity, and self respect back. Something which I deeply lost during my time at my previous job. I worked for a very big company in the United Kingdom. Obviously I won't name it, nor will I list the type of work it was. That's not me being a dick, it's just I don't want it to backfire on me, as I have a very good standing with one of my supervisors still ( who went out of his way to protect me in the job) I was hired on a 8 hour contract with the premise being that I could do overtime and get more hours etc etc. During the summer I took a few people's shifts to show my manager that I was dedicated and loyal to the job…
