Don't ever let these corporate ass kissers scrounging to imitate the corrupt upper management they work under tell you any different. Your integrity, values, and boundaries are more important.
Rutgers University is on strike!
I got a job at a fast food place and they said they only paid using some weird rapid! pay card. I told them that I had my own account I could use for direct deposit but they said only managers had that option… I’m worried because apparently it charges monthly fees and even fees me for withdrawing and transferring money. Anyone else have experience using these things? Is this even legal?
This is absolutely disgusting. “People love my attitude.” “Her fans can't get enough.” (As if she's like super famous or something?) “A few journeys with no tip at all but she didn't complain” (fuck no, if you don't tip you can't afford delivery go pick it up) I've delivered for a big chain pizza company, it's shitty work and you waste gas and put milage and wear and tear on your car for peanuts. It's not glamorous or “easy money.” They want people back to work so bad and its disgusting. Hey dominos, your greed is showing.
After literally being blindsided by a “Developing” rating in my review for last year, I had enough. I completed major IT projects (migrated network folders to OneDrive, transitioned email archiving from local unsecured files to the cloud, managed a PC refresh effort, etc.) affecting thousands of end users, my boss and director thought it was better to bully me into being more positive despite their constant downplaying of my efforts, suggesting my role is finite and just outright bullying me throughout the year, so my rating was the last straw. I took a 3 week personal leave for a mental health break and used it to fan out my resumes everywhere. Fortunately, I landed a job and even have other companies as alternatives. The moment I got my offer, I wrote out my resignation letter and sent it my fourth day back after being on leave and felt like a…
How outdated is a suit ?
How unpractical , uncomfortable and outdated is a ( 3-piece ) suit ? Most people i know are always saying how smart and handsome people look in a suit . The biggest criminals wear suits . ( politicians , bankers , ceo´s etc. ) The fact that a person is wearing one doesn´t make them a better person . The only reason i can think of is wearing one because you don´t want to make your hands dirty . And no , wearing one doesn´t make you better than anyone else .
In case you haven’t heard, Rutgers faculty unions called a strike this week – the first strike in University history. I am a Rutgers employee in the URA-AFT Union, who has just posted they are considering voting to authorize a strike in solidarity (we also do not have contracts). The inner Poli Sci major in me is loving this whole stick-it-to-the-man-eat-the rich-pay-us-an-equitable-wage sentiment that strikes bring… but I am concerned about what this means for me as an employee. If my Union strikes, what does this mean? Do I automatically lose pay, whether I partake or not? If I choose to work, what happens? How long do / can strikes last? Should I be worried about my job security should I partake? Thanks y’all, this is my first “big girl job” fresh outta college & this is super wild to witness such intense history in the making.
