TL;DR: real estate.
Like if the real estate market played in favour of the salary men/women.

Forced to do other roles
Just curious if anyone has any insight, in IL my role is basically a level 2 desktop support role but my job has now forced all desktop techs across the country to be helpdesk techs several times a week. It originally was supposed to be just a couple hours on those days to help out managements short sighted idea to have everyone in the company change their passwords but now we are being told that it is for the whole 8 hour shift. I am already looking for a new job elsewhere because this one has become absolutely intolerable, but I guess my question is legally can they force me to work positions that were not on my offer letter when I was hired. For reference the company is a cell phone company that loves pink, for scope of how many people are being told this
Can you believe the pay ?
This place is know to pay super low wages. I imagine they must only hire felons cuz who is gonna run a store or be in the receiving department driving forklifts for 15$ an hour. The receiving pays 13$ I hear lol
I’m thinking of giving up my career,
I am a graphic designer I graduated in 2020 and since then I have struggled to find a job with a decent salary, I have had some clients but each time I have had more difficulty finding more clients or employment, I must say that at least in my country graphic design is often mocked as a minor profession and the salaries are not enough to live on. I recently discovered the antiwork community and after reading several essays I feel like I'm fighting for a place in a pyramid where I can't even have enough to survive.
Every day. Rinse and repeat.
I run a plumbing supply warehouse solo, I'm not the manager but he is usually too busy with other stuff to help me. Excluding useless people In the showroom we have 4 workers 2 people working the counter, 1 manager, and me (and also delivery driver but he is gone all day delivering) I'm fucking sick of billion dollar companies who do not give a single fuck about their employees. I go to work exhausted every day and do the work of what should probably be a 2 to 3 person job. I feel like i have no other options because I am only 19 with no degree and I am not gonna find another job paying what I make. (50k a year pre taxes) this post is pointless but I am venting. The CEO puts these fucking videos of himself talking about how great the company is and everything.…
