Success!!!!!
I just wanted to tell y’all about the MAJOR victory I just got. Backstory: I got told by a friend that he found a business that really needs someone with my skill set, $20 an hour, full benefits, great place. I’m down, I go, I meet the owner, he tells me that it’s $20 an hour, full time, blah blah blah and I’ll be staging equipment. I’m so in it’s insane. He then tells me “I’m gonna hire you as a 1099 contractor for 30 days and if I like you after that, I’ll hire you on, deal?” I said sure, reluctantly, and got to work. That day and the next day I worked a total of 9 hours, and I started thinking “This is shady, I haven’t signed paperwork, or anything.” And he was having me do janitorial stuff, cleaning, hanging TVs, not stuff that I was hired to…

Self explanatory
Is this the worst boss ever?
I know my work environment is toxic but something tragic happened and I asked if I could take a day off. ONE DAY. THAT IS NOTHING and that’s ALL I ASKED FOR. How should I even respond to this
Honestly, during this job search that I’m having, the recruiters are more honest than the hiring managers themselves. It it’s an adventure getting body language signs and emotions from them hiring managers to see where they’re leaning in terms of liking me/leaning toward hiring me. The recruiters that I’ve been in touch with have been much more blunt and upfront with me in regards to compensation, what to actually expect on the job, and being much more helpful in actually pushing my applications forward. Have you guys encountered a similar experience that I am having? Or is this just the case since they have to be nice and courteous with they prospects they call?
