I began the interview process for a job a month ago. It took a month to go through 3(!) interviews and get the job offer. The first interview I stayed I would need at least $18/hr and the recruiter said they would make that known to their team so when I get the job offer for $16 I was a little confused because I made it clear I couldn’t take less than $18 and assumed if I had moved forward in the interview process it was clear to them what my requirements were. So I had to negotiate for $18/hr. Now I’m going through the onboarding process and it’s going to be another 2-3 weeks before I’m working full-time. Do these companies not know that we need money to survive and can’t just wait around for them to do their thing? So frustrating. So now I’m back on the job…
This one reason no one serves now
This is yet another reason no one wants to serve in the military. This doesn't even include the multitude of stupid shit our poor service members go through. There's a guy on YouTube shorts that goes over this a bunch. For example; You need to borrow a hammer. The equipment guys have you sign it out, which I mean fair enough gotta keep people accountable. What happens if you loose the hammer on accident? Can you just buy them a new one? Nope. Has to be a particular hammer. Ok I guess, if I find it on my own and buy it will that be ok? Nope. Has to be through this system. So what now? Oh we're gonna charge you $500 for a new hammer. And that's not even the start of it. How much do the folks who risk their lives defending our nation make? Can you guess?…

Antiwork anthem? (2003, rock)
This is my personal opinion, and runt about my recent work environment. I work for a hell of a corporation. I'm on a contract of employment, on an introductory internship to nothing. To all interns who have the opportunity, IF IT'S BAD AND YOU CAN QUIT, BETTER QUIT EARLY. I would like this post to be a warning to everyone who is starting their career in the profession. In addition, my personal dishwashing/sharing of the inner pain of failing in my profession (which I could love but won't return to, I've written why below). My former boss declared my career path as a project engineer in a factory as developing soft skills, expanding knowledge about machines and chemical processes taking place on lines. She personally couldn't give exact examples of the skills I would be taught (a big flaming red flag waving). After taking the position, I noticed that most…
My place of work recently got bought by a new employer. He's a right piece of shit, and it running the place into the ground. As it's tax season, he sent out W-2's. I received mine as well as another employees. It has her address, SSN, and other sensitive information. Should I report this to someone?
A couple of days ago I applied to a job that aligns with my skill set. I’m starting to look because my current employer is having financial difficulties and may be laying some people off. The application process was super excruciating, they even asked for a bunch of supporting documentation. Their HR person emails me yesterday morning, we went back and forth with him asking me a few questions, and the last email I got was asking for my salary requirements. Magically, I stopped hearing from him. This morning I even sent an email asking if he’d received my response. Nothing. Radio silence. I don’t understand why these HR people don’t have the decency to turn you down if you don’t fall under their desired parameters. Especially when you’ve taken the time to go through their ridiculous application process. Companies are only putting themselves in bad spots by not wanting…
