Antiwork anthem? (2003, rock)
This is my personal opinion, and runt about my recent work environment. I work for a hell of a corporation. I'm on a contract of employment, on an introductory internship to nothing. To all interns who have the opportunity, IF IT'S BAD AND YOU CAN QUIT, BETTER QUIT EARLY. I would like this post to be a warning to everyone who is starting their career in the profession. In addition, my personal dishwashing/sharing of the inner pain of failing in my profession (which I could love but won't return to, I've written why below). My place of work recently got bought by a new employer. He's a right piece of shit, and it running the place into the ground. As it's tax season, he sent out W-2's. I received mine as well as another employees. It has her address, SSN, and other sensitive information. Should I report this to someone?
A couple of days ago I applied to a job that aligns with my skill set. I’m starting to look because my current employer is having financial difficulties and may be laying some people off. The application process was super excruciating, they even asked for a bunch of supporting documentation. Their HR person emails me yesterday morning, we went back and forth with him asking me a few questions, and the last email I got was asking for my salary requirements. Magically, I stopped hearing from him. This morning I even sent an email asking if he’d received my response. Nothing. Radio silence. I don’t understand why these HR people don’t have the decency to turn you down if you don’t fall under their desired parameters. Especially when you’ve taken the time to go through their ridiculous application process. Companies are only putting themselves in bad spots by not wanting…
