How does one quiet quit?
Just in general. If I’m to do so should I work much slower? Not do certain tasks at all? I hate management and not horribly fond of the company in general. Work in residential title business.
So I work a campus job and we have to submit our hours every two weeks. I’m usually pretty diligent about it but sometimes such as when I don’t have internet access (I go home some weekends where I don’t have internet), I can’t turn in my hours. I fill in the sheet and everything for late turn in of hours after the fact and for my past campus jobs it’s never been an issue. Last week my great grandma died and I was very close with her. I called off the two days I worked, so I assumed I didn’t need to put in the hours since I had none to submit in the first place. My supervisor said it was totally fine to miss work so I just left it at that. Now I just got an email saying if I miss inputting my hours one more time…
Worst interview I’ve ever had
So I had an interview at a place that produced food liners for crock pots. Ridiculously strict company. 12 hour shifts, 2 5 minute breaks, 1 20 minute break. For the entire 12 hours you have to be inside the building, no exceptions. No piercings, jewelry, long hair, or facial hair. You work through 99% of holidays because of how expensive it is to turn the machines off. No paid sick time or sick time in general, only a small amount of vacation time granted after 90 days. I don’t think I will be accepting that job any time soon. Not to mention the plant manager seemed very arrogant and rude when asking about previous employment and my reasons for leaving.
Personally, I believe it’s assault and employee should’ve been terminated immediately or both suspended pending investigation. (It’s all on camera)
Marriage name changes
Backstory: So I’ve had my job for about 8mo now. A month ago, I worked remotely while I was away getting married. In the marriage, me and my now wife had discussed me taking her last name. I have not legally changed it yet, as I am trying to get together a list of all the places I’ll need to change my name at, as well as waiting on my marriage certificate to come in the mail. Now I have my marriage certificate. Work: I decided to change my signature block on my email to reflect my new last name. Email address still has old last name for client relation purposes; they all know me by my family name. Again, just the signature at the bottom of my emails has changed. I was directed by HR to change it back to my family name, and told that I can’t hyphenate…
Quick reminder what Unions are for.
German Union IGM is pushing for the 4 day week with full compensation.
It infuriates me. No, we don't have room for advancement. We drive people out at what ought to be a relatively low rung on the ladder and then backfill it with temps.
Mother may get evicted. I need advice.
Was told to post this here. My mother is nearing her fifties and has had foot problems for as long as I’ve known her(not blood-related). She works in hotels, diners, and such. Anyway, she is always complaining about the pain in her feet but neglected to ever do anything about it because she is poor. Finally, a month ago she actually decides to go to the doctor about her feet after me and my sister had been pressing on her too. I guess after years and years the pain was finally unbearable. Doctor says the bones in her feet are shattered. I don’t know the specifics but it’s major surgery. Me and my sister are happy that she’s finally going to get treatment, but the celebration is short lived because her hotel job fired her. They fired her for taking time off to finally go see a doctor about her…
