Like truly. NO ONE wants this. Most people are actively very displeased with their jobs. No one likes feeling exploited for their labor. No one likes earning the company millions while only getting to put a few hundred dollars in their pocket at the end of the week, which of course all gets devoured by the insane cost of living, children, groceries, bills, and so on. The normal style of living is so excruciatingly painful to come to terms with. We are all expected to donate our entire lives to giant billion dollar corps so that we can get paid nothing, and the douche at the top that oversees it all gets to sit on Twitter and live a gluttonous lifestyle. We are expected to spend more time working than living our normal lives. We are employees before we are citizens. The normal retirement age is 60-65 so say it…
I specialise in Diamonds and bridal jewellery, and have had plenty of interviews where they insist on paying minimum wage although the companies make in the millions from their overpriced jewellery. I just had two interviews this week with very large companies and their opinon is that I am worth the minimum wage ? This is a joke
I don’t mean passing time if you’ve got no work, I mean what personal things do you intentionally get during work time to make your life easier or feel like you’re getting something more back? E.g paying bills, writing personal emails, booking travel or appointments, online shopping, meal planning. Working on a side hustle for extra money?
Movies where the characters hate their jobs, bosses, capitalist greed and/or the prevailing economic system. Bonus points if the movie is underrated.
Go to College
Go to college I was told. Earn a degree and come out of school with a 40,000 dollar a year job. Would you look at that, I listened. I did what I was told, I went the extra mile along the way and got 4 internships. I graduated in 2019 in a field I hate, got a job I hated, and got my 40k. Now, I’ve changed fields from business to social work essentially, and make 46k. It’s not enough. I have gotten to a point in life where I need to go on medical leave one to two times a year for mental health reasons. Most times it’s unpaid cuz I jump job to job due to mental health reasons. I can’t stand living in this world where I can’t support myself or loved ones. I have a fiancé, she struggles financially too, I suppose it’s us now. Am…
The structure of my organisation
Hi guys, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, sorry if it isn't. I have seen posts about job listings that trigger or irritate people, so I do not want to do the same. English is not my first language so I wanted to get your opinions. I'm hiring developers for my company and need to send our (paid) take home assignment to a foreign candidate. Since this is a take home project, we have seen people who did not do the assignment themselves. I'm also a 16-year developer myself so cheaters clearly show after they start to work because they cannot literally do the same simple things on the job or it's obvious from the questions they ask. I own this company for more than a decade but it's still emotionally very hard for me to fire people even when they are in the…
