What is your line of work, how much are you compensated and how much do you think you should be compensated? Not talking about unrealistic CEO-type compensation, but a compensation that would make you feel like you weren't screwed over for your time and effort.

I was offered a job on the spot recently without actually looking for another job, and after discussing with my now new employer about my credentials and what I could provide them they offered me nearly double the yearly income as what I was previously getting paid. So of course I took the offer. Put in my 2 weeks trying to be professional. Old boss asked where I was going and I made the mistake of telling him. So what's he do, calls to complain about them poaching me from his company. I live in an at will state, and never signed a non-compete contract.
