It's a reality that has left the country with the lowest fertility rate in the world since 2013. Across South Korea, women are choosing to have fewer children — or none at all — as they contend with a rise in the cost of living that has hit young people disproportionately hard. Why it’s not worth it to try
Not permitted to leave
First time poster here. I need some insight, if anyone is willing to offer. So I have been working for a tech consultant company for about 4 years. Lets call them company A. Since my hire, I have been consulting for company B. Company B has asked to keep me for another year. A lot has happened and I am the only one from company A that is still working for B. Since it seems they want me, I decided to apply for company B for higher wage/ benefits etc.. Company A does not want to let me go until July. I find it a bit strange and I am disappointed that I am missing out on potential revenue. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do? note: Company B would like to hire me ASAP and I live in QC Canada
Any thoughts on S.686 – RESTRICT Act?
I fear it could be used to silence union efforts in the future https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/senate-bill/686/text?s=1&r=15

Why were my conworkers so hard working?
So I (20m) recently quit my job in a bakery. It was awful. For a bit of context of how bad this place was on my probation meeting they said to me I was bad at my job and needed to step up (even though I was constantly working overtime). One of the higher up said “you’ve been off sick 3 times in the past 6 months, that’s a lot” the boss said “you seem to always have problems with your health”. We constantly worked overtime barely had any breaks. I wouldn’t have continued if it wasn’t for my coworkers (not my managers there were assholes). They were so nice. During my last week I’d had enough. I never got any thanks for working late, infact we got blamed saying we didn’t work hard or quick enough. The managers were assholes constantly shouting and blaming me. On the last day…

Im going to try to make this short because Im still pretty shaken up by it. It will probably still be long as its kinda crazy. I work in a nursing home for context. I was told a resident's wife wanted to ask me a question about a package I helped them open. (I physically cut the tape but he did every else and I just threw the box away when he was done.) She started screaming and cussing at me immediately about how we must have stolen his snacks because she can't see them. I explained to her that I helped him open it, but I wasn't sure about where some of the snacks were as i am in activities and typicallydont work on this unit. I can only assume he ate them as you could see every other snack was still on his table. Well she started getting…
