So when I applied to Walmart (only worked there for a week) they had these odd scenario questions, “If you had an idea on how to get a job done faster, how would you tell your manager?” was one of them. Why don't they just tell you what they want you to do in that scenario? Instead of test to see if you somehow already know the answer, as if you can read the manager's mind? My new job is a lot better, but they still often fail to give me instructions. Figuring stuff out without being told what's going on is so frustrating esp bc we work in a factory. Instead of telling me “when you feed the papers into the machine you have to shuffle them, make sure they're facing backside up, and make sure the spine of the paper is facing this side of the machine”, they…
Price Chopper is running on fumes.
I don't wanna specify the district and obviously no names, but Price Chopper (who merged with Tops Markets and claimed this type of disaster would never happen) made record profits the past few years. Payroll has been cut so low (because, according to our zone director, we “can't afford it”) that most department managers are working alone. I mean stocking, ordering, paperwork, everything alone. Our front end is ran by one cashier and the Team Lead is almost always doing both the office and the self checkout. I'm trying to get my store riled up about it, but a lot bootlickers are here. You can see they are exhausted and frustrated, but they keep responding with “it is what it is hyuk hyuk”. Two stores in our district (there's 14 or 15 total I think) have managers stepping down, and now they want all the other stores to send help.…
