Millenial here, so the whole “buy one less latte” mantra that comes from boomers was them projecting their own problem on the rest of us. The average age of a Starbucks buyer is 42 years old, why didn't I realize this before? Most humans are simple and we only know how to give advice from our own experience, so of course the biggest coffee buyers would say “well maybe if you didn't buy a latte everyday you'd save up for a house or a car.” Like I can barely remember the last time I didn't brew anything at home, I literally make everything I can at home. I'm sitting here wondering where I'm going wrong with my spending when I can do Blacksmithing, carpentry, framing, electrical, landscaping, mechanic, like I can basically do all my homesteading myself and I see consoomers walking into brake shops and spending a fortune and…
When Minimum Wage Works Out.
I don't understand how we expect to get solidarity when we are allowing people to post racebaiting videos. Calling women b*tches, claiming behaviors are determined by race, etc. This is supposed to be solidarity movement but i dont understand how it ever could be when there are posting saying racist, misogynistic, things in the comments of some posts. It's starting to to feel like a coordinated effort to swing this subreddit towards a place where anti-work alt right members can congregate and say problematic things. I don't think is coincidental either, but the numbers of upvotes these comments are getting is truly troublesome and speaks to effort in making minorites feel unwelcome here.
I work at a company where everyone seems to be at this woman’s feet. She is aways doing shit all and mostly is on her phone or does very minimum work! Sometimes she does not even know the basics of her job! Well today she complained about me saying I am a jerk because I was being disrespectful to her and that she does not understand why I do not like her “as she did nothing to me”. My other colleagues think I am jerk as well. The situation here: They all call her “princess”, I am not kidding, they call her princess. They get what she needs even if that is a candy in the vending machine. She runs these guys, which to me is very sad. I know they are doing this because they are trying to sleep with her, but its so CRINGE! Well I did not…
How much tip is fair?
So, I've been to the states for the first time and there are a lot of places where you pay before you even get your stuff (especially coffee) and I was wondering: how much tip do you give in that case? There's no real service provided, except for the making of the coffee itself. I just don't know, because where I am from, you would just round it up to next even number, no worries wether it's 20 cents or 1 Euro max. But I don't want to insult anybody and obviously show solidarity to workers as well. I just felt 20% was a bit much…
