I work at a dog kennel. There's a pet expo the business has a spot at. They've asked for “volunteers” to setup, takedown, and be at their table (pushing the business). Does any of this require compensation? I like to hold my employers accountable when they're doing illegal things.

After working as a graphic designer for six years, with five of those years spent at a promotional products company, I think I've reached a point where I just don't give a shit about giving clients my opinion on things like “what do you think about this?” or “do you think this will work?”. Honestly, I'm not sure and I don't really care anymore. At the end of the day, you're the one paying for this request, so it's ultimately your decision. Any of you guys felt that way at a certain point or at currently feeling like that?

I hate working but I still have to pay my bills. I currently work as a security guard making slightly above minimum wage. I currently work at a utilities post where my goal is to patrol checking for locked doors every 2 hours. It only takes me 10 minutes to complete each round then I go back to my shack where I have lots of downtime. In a total of 8 hour work day I probably only do 30 minutes of real work a day. I hardly talk to anyone, I am not supervised, I only see my supervisor every other week when they want to drop off my check. I go in, get my work done, then I get to go home. The low pay and irregular hours at times suck. I know there are security guards who do the same amount of work making $25+ an hour to…

I'm an introverted, shy person. I arrive to do my work and leave. My boss decided to have a conversation with me and said i look unhappy at work. I'm just there to earn money, i didnt tell him that but thats just how I feel. He says he wants everyone to feel okay and not crying. Im okay, but i guess i dont look ''happy'' ? I dont know what to do, i cant change who i am and how i feel. Im just there to do my job and get my money.
