A reply to a video about how lower/non millionaires think “eat the rich” applies to them
I'm looking to get some third-party advice for my current situation.. I have recently transitioned from blue collar work to work in an office job, and I am not familiar with all the dynamics and red tape that comes with working for a corporation. I was hired on part-time through an acquaintance, and he offered me 21hr starting as I had no experience and told me that if I did a good job that he could get me 25hr at the end of my 3 month probabation.. He also told me that he would support me in achieving a promotion that would pay 60-65k a year which was a huge incentive for me to start at such a low wage. I'm a very quick learner, hard worker etc. Always showed up on time and stayed late when I thought necessary etc.. my boss appreciate this and gave me payed 1hr…
I’m working to slow? Get fucked.
I'm a 19-year-old trapped in a soul-sucking corporate restaurant job as a line cook. Today, I was scheduled for a grueling double shift from 11:00AM to 10:00PM, as usual. We were severely understaffed with just three of us in the kitchen, as usual. We were each responsible for two stations and the orders were pouring in. I was doing my best to keep up, but I had to work at a slower pace to ensure that I didn't mess up the orders or get overwhelmed. Keep in mind I am only 3 weeks into this job, so I am still learning and trying to get better. Additionally, I have been scolded before for messing up orders, due to it being busy and understaffed. So what was the solution? To just take my time, but quickly, to prevent messing up orders or becoming angry. Despite this, my manager, who was also…
My job doesn’t allow breaks
I’ve been working as a medical office receptionist for almost 4 years now in WA state. I work for an IME (independent medical evaluation) company, where we evaluate medical claims (worker’s comp, Labor & Industries, etc). I work over 14.5 hours some days without a break. I “signed” over my rights to a lunch break, so I have a “working lunch.” We get food delivered for the doctors and myself. I can’t eat at the front desk (nor can I leave the front desk) so I rarely ever get time to eat, since I am required to be at the desk at all times. What I am most concerned about though, is rest breaks. I’ve read that WA state requires employees to get rest breaks. I don’t ever remember signing my rights away to a 10, 15, or 20 minute work break. Is that a thing? I find it super…
Hi guys, I would appreciate your input on an issue am experiencing at work. I am not sure if I see it correctly, maybe I am missing something and I would appreciate if you guys could help me understand it better. I work for a large jewelry company managing sales department which includes about 10 people. My boss is the owner of the company. We don’t do anything in person, all our sales are online which is important to mention here. All the people I work with are very hard working, we don’t have any issues and turnover at all. I make enough mistakes in management and they’re very forgiving. I am very blessed with my team. We have been growing a lot, we hit our sales goals most of the time, I’d say 9 month out of 12. However, summer is naturally slow for the industry and comparing to…

My boss at my funeral
My favorite line for new hires
It is against company policy to work off the clock. I make sure to tell each and every person I work with.
