I have to move, and I'm learning just how badly property management companies have screwed everyone, now. Only a year ago, finding a place was far easier than it is, now. But now, homelessness is very much on the rise while everyone is being priced out of homes, or just doesn't have the credit score for it. I don't live in a place with an incredibly high population density- just a major Midwestern city. It's usually more than doable to find a place within a week of beginning your search. But now, it's just gone crazy. Does anyone know if there are any activist groups in the US, for this? We're already being priced out of food and transportation costs. Now people are being forced onto the street even worse than before, for some greedy animal's get-rich-quick scheme? When everyone's basic needs are no longer affordable, I see a snapping…

I really wish I could lay it in on why they suck but they don't deserve that

i worked at a huge corporate diner. i was very sick, in fact everyone at work the previous day took notice of this and helped me out a bit. i called out of work the next day following protocol, properly, 6+ hours ahead of time. the next morning my manager texts me that i’m “not taking this job seriously” and fired me. i worked there for four years, i had a great relationship with my coworkers, i was known to be a very hard worker who did my job very well. i never had any problems until we got a new manager a few months ago but thanks to the blessings of republicans, i live in a “right to work” state where really they can fire me for any reason at any time so i can’t do anything about it :,) i also don’t qualify for unemployment because they kept…

I work in a dead end job that sucks my soul and makes me want to end myself. I've been searching for a new job for months but no luck. I have 2 years of experience and am only applying to entry-level jobs but every company ask for at least 5 years of experience for their entry-level jobs, it's ridiculous. I've tried everything but nothing works. I hate this, I feel like my sanity is slipping and I don't know how much I can take it. How can people tolerate this without ending up in the morgue. I'm just sick of everything.

Me and an old coworker at a “restaurant” (aka a glorified Subway) are discussing compiling a series of labor violations, worker mistreatment, and food safety violations across the time we were there and continuing. This goes from suppression of injury reports to cross contamination. We’ve contacted some old coworkers who have all now quit or been fired. I don’t know a single old employee who can speak well of their business model, so we have a lot to pull from. First steps are contacting the labor and health departments to spur an inspection on the basis of an ant infestation (which they have, and is contaminating the food now) and then adding the other details we have, along with disability mistreatment/lack of accommodation, and injury report suppression.
