Endless interview rounds
Why companies need 4-5 interview rounds for regular jobs? This is total bs and big red flag. Preparing for each round is time-consuming and exhausting. Applicants who make it to the final round and fail should be paid compensation for using a lot of time preparing for nothing. I mean wtf is this? Companies have no respect for our time.
Stop saying socialism for the rich
The phrase is corporate propaganda designed to poison the masses against the word socialism. Money being taken from workers and given to the capitalist class is just regular capitalism. There is no socialism or communism involved in this involuntary transfer.
So I was looking at yet another impactful youtube video from job interview experts. This one struck me differently. He explained how great a one line elevator pitch style of who you are. Goes something like this: I am a __________________ who helps _______________________ so they are able to ______________________. Me personally, was a network engineer for 10+ years but left due to lack of advancement and stagnate tools to work with. What would be your one liner?
Many may disagree, but I think finances are a major barrier to gainful employment at jobs that require business professional/casual attire. Sure, you could shop at thrift store, but even then, many people don't have enough money to do that. Ok I get it, don't take a job that requires a certain type of attire, but if it's a decent opportunity, and the cost of a new wardrobe is a legitimate hindrance, then what? These are the types of things the “pull yourself up by the bootstrap” crowd overlooks. Has anyone gone through this this? How did you handle it? Thanks for listening.
About to be homeless in a few days
Fell behind on the rent and can’t afford to pay it back. Landlord’s evicting me. I told some people at work, and they ended up passing it on to the managers. Their solution? Up my hours from 35 to 40. They said it was the best they could do for me. I am trying to figure out a solution here, but it’s not looking good.
