In the 1950s, when I was a child, CEOs made about 20x more than the average worker. In the 1980s when I was mayor of Burlington, CEOs made 42x more.In 2000, when I was in the House, CEOs made about 120x more.Today, they're making almost 400x more.Unacceptable.— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) March 15, 2023
I did an interview for a summer job as a camp counselor and they said that I would be a good fit for the camp. They also expressed interest in me also working on the rock wall. The only caveat to that is that I’d need to take a certification class on my own time for it, and that I’d need to work more hours for it. I said that Id be more than happy to take the position, but since I’d need to take a class for it in my own time and money, as well as working a position that would leave me at heightened liability with the children, I expect to be compensated for it; and if not I was still more than happy to be a regular counselor. Was I too forward or was my request reasonable? They haven’t responded yet and it’s a day later.
Back in line slave
I work in the Netherlands for a temp agency. Is there any chance for paid sick leave? I have problems with my back due to the company we work for using us for their dirty jobs.
CEOs be like…
How do you stop hating work?
I hate having to deal with people and my coworkers. Everyday, they make me feel stupid for something I’ve said or done. I feel depressed and anxious all the time, even when I’m on medication. On my off days, I just sleep all the time, because I’m so mentally exhausted. This has been a recurring theme at every job I’ve had. Apologies if this is the wrong sub, if there is a more appropriate sub to post this, please let me know.
