Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. My philosophy has been that I try to pay the debt I owe a creditor but that if a third party comes along and “buys” my debt then what they did was generously pay off my debt and I owe them nothing. The debt agreement wasn't between me and them it was between me and the party they just paid off. Thoughts?
I have been a contractor working in the project coordinator/junior PM realm for about 2 years with a major company in the US. The workload isn't too bad- but I dread that as a contractor and being expendable, I will be given the boot someday soon or at the end of this contract. This isn't even the biggest concern of mine, however. I have tried to get out of the contractor role for a while now by applying to permanent roles and, as many of you have noticed, it's rough out there. If I get interviews, I am turned away after the second one for a better candidate. Honestly, I am just done and unmotivated to work. Even applying to these jobs, I am not excited at the idea AT ALL. Not like I used to be when I was younger (I'm hitting 33 now). I just think “more time…
This could be because of tech changes, challenges with learning new skills, as well as changes in the job market and economy
I was promised a promotion and raise for months as a reward for working my ass off and taking on many more duties than those for which I was hired (because I care about the work — I know, first mistake). Today, I was told that my new salary would be 8% higher, and that raise would be in lieu of a COLA or merit increase. With the social security COLA for inflation this year at 8.7%, it doesn't really feel like I'm getting a raise at all. Am I wrong to be pissed about this?
It’s been building for years
This is the best explanation of why we no longer care
The cost to have kids these days is astronomical even with insurance.
Why does this feel relevant again?

Everything is going to be fine
If the job you are applying to requires a DL and will not accept a state ID even though driving is not part of job duties, is this okay? Some even require you to own a car. This is very common at least where I live (Raleigh NC). My 24yo does not want to drive but can not get gainful employment outside of retail and fast food without one. Is it just our area?
As the title states, My bosses (both she's) like to micromanage me when I'm not happy , in terms of not wanting to be there at that work place. And today they basically said, time to start updating us again om when every single task is completed, I had the guts to say that you're micromanaging me and there like this is not and that it is communicating. Went back and forth until something that distracted all of us and ended the conversation there
