Early today at work the weather started changing and turned for the worst with the wind and snow picking up, my boss who was going out to deposit at the bank and check on another location, told me if the weather gets really bad he'll come back and drive me, but he needed me to make sure things were logged and inventory was finished by end of shift today in the back. While I was working on that, the weather got worse, and pretty much every business around closed and people were going home, and my attempts to contact him for about 2 hours were going to voice mail. When he finally called me back a few hours ago, he asked me “what do you want?” and I had to remind him what he told me, and he responded “I forgot, sorry. I'm sure you'll figure something out. Don't forget…
Review was rejected because it doesn't suit their guidelines. I guess it gave too much information the company withholds for their recruitment tactics, and do a hire mass people and hope something sticks. 75% of this information was not given to me until the last day of orientation. Just trying to save others the headache. https://preview.redd.it/0x0tp1ydxsma1.png?width=1405&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=58d1f8added3b073597696cac6c495bb9f8c9054
So I went to my shrink and told her how my depression with ASD affected my work. So much I ended up in hospital for ideation. So I filed for SSI/SSDI and hope for the best. She's on board with that and we agreed that the concept of work as we know it today is broken. I'm looking forward to this as to be frank, work makes me sick. The pressure, the low wages… it's not good for my anxiety. My workplace is small and dysfunctional. People get hired and then quit sometime later. Most of the remaining crew, managers included, are self medicating with pot. You think this means we are mellow. Far from it. I mentioned this subreddit and she's more than intrigued, she's excited. She's in solidarity, folx. So hello to you if you are reading this. I got my excuse note and I got the support…
Employee Survey Action Plan
I am moving on from my current job. I got a job offer and am planning on putting in my notice at the end of the week. When I come in on my Monday my boss at the end of my shift, asks me to do some “busy work” for him that he doesn’t have time for. Come to find out it is coming up with, and typing out action plans in response to our employee satisfaction survey. I already do 95% of the admin bc I am “better at computers”. What should I do? He is the department head, I am the lowest ranking manger.
I originally wrote this in the singapore subreddit but I deleted that post because at that time I was afraid of my employer finding out and firing me or some other consequences due to that post, but now I'm serving my notice period and so yea I dare to post this again for all to see. Also now I cant post there lol, apparently the moderators there think its offensive or whatever. ORIGINAL POST: Beware of this company it will ask you for 200SGD every month and 500SGD if you don't meet the attendance bonus requirements. Reported this kickback offence to MOM awaiting response. The attendance bonus is a penny-pinching stupid and inhumane policy which you only get by having PERFECT attendance whereby you can't take MC, leave, unpaid leave, etc. You MUST be punctual and nothing bad happen to you to get it for the month. The bonus is…
Income Tax Doesn’t Make Sense
I live in the USA where Individual Income Tax is the largest source of the Federal Government's revenue. Add in Social Security and Medicare taxes and it makes up for a whopping 86% of revenue for the United States government. Only workers pay these Income, SS and Medicare taxes. If you are making money without working, from investments etc, it is subject to other taxes, but not Income or Social Security or Medicare taxes. Taxing INCOME as opposed to taxing WEALTH is a huge inequity. We shouldn't tax income at all. There's so much wealth in the United States (like 30%+ of the whole world's total wealth!!) that we could simplify the tax code pretty radically and easily pay for whatever the fuck we want to. The US government spent 6.7 Trillion is 2022. In 2021 the total wealth in the USA was 145.8 trillion dollars. Just tax the wealth…
I’m just so worried about finding a new job in the future and going through what I did in my current role where I replaced someone who had been here almost 30 years so naturally nothing was documented and I had to reverse engineer everything for the first few months in the job. Are there still places that actually offer on the job training and not just plop you at your desk and expect you to know everything from there by day 1?
“…is given in exhange for rights…”
I have a co-worker on my team who has made travel her entire personality. When I started everyone introduced her and said “she’s our traveler”. She has been with the company a long time so she has a lot of PTO and takes usually 3-4 two week long vacations every year Everyone acts like she’s the only person to ever travel and like seeing pictures of her trips is worth us having to cover her desk for two weeks at a time. Also everyone gives her priority on her time off except this year I beat her to request one of her preferred weeks and she bitched to everyone. So now everyone on the team is wanting to know why I’m taking time off and what could possibly be more important than this lady taking her trip to Japan. Actually I’m just gonna lounge at home but that’s none of…
