An interesting contract offer
Situation: 6 months contract with a medical device company (3 months down). Currently doing the work of 3 people as two other people have left. Doing a part time course in IT to get out of this industry for good. Offered a permanent contract with two clauses, I think they're trying to pull a fast one. Due to the nature of the business, you agree that you will be required to work additional hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of your role. You will not be entitled to any additional salary or overtime in respect of any such additional hours of work as your salary takes account of this. I work for an electrical contractor I drove an hour one way this morning and drove an hour back the other way jut to be left in the dark and told we are working nights now. I’m always having to switch jobs because I’m sick of people saying I’m the problem because they mishandled something. I’ve only been in the field for a year in and a few months yet when I get wrote up for being too slow I tell them I’ve never done this before nor do I know how it works that’s why someone is supposed to teach me. In part of three a man crew on the job…
