Salary 8AM-5PM no extra bullshit.
So I’m a manager over the intermodal dept. at a tire business. My scheduled hours are 8-5 my boss came at me because he’s been leaving early (3-4) to where I have to stay and close up staying until 6-6:30. So last week I started to come in at 9. This morning his bitchass pulls me in the office brings up the fact that I am salary and says “your scheduled hours are 8-5.” I retorted “Ok Allen 8-5 is 8-5, if I come in at 8 I will leave at 5 no exceptions. You understand this correct?” He had a dumbass look on his face per usual and said “well sometimes….” I cut him off and said “uh uh uh 8-5 means 8-5, you want to hold me to that, then I will also hold you to it…. I hope you didn’t get to used to leaving at 3…
I’m just so sick of it all!
I currently work in a daycare as a teacher. for context, I was never properly informed of a call in policy beyond the sentence of “if you're sick or throwing up, don't come in. don't get the kids sick” when I started employment. since July of 2022, I'd been having a lot of digestive issues and was throwing up often. I'd only call in when I was actively throwing up before my shift, never if it was the night before (like I'm supposed to). my boss always seemed so understanding and kind about it. one day he tells me I'm using a lot of my “bank hours” and to be careful. apparently I only have so many hours in a year that I can call in. I explain I'm having medical issues that I'm trying to get a doctor's appointment for, as I currently don't have a gp. he says…
not my story but i am sharing it
Tldr; I work for a security that only pays 15$hr here in Canada. I have a second job that pays more but got laid off for that job. I basically do 2 weeks at other job and 2 weeks with this security gig. I’m their best guard and I saved them many contracts chase other security guards are shit. I demand they pay me more at the very least 20$hr and he started getting offended how other companies don’t pay enough as well ect ect. Seriously thinking of quitting. I’m worth more than 15
I’m not anymore. After years and years of people constantly complaining about things like being charged $2 more a month on their premium, resorting to screaming at me at times. Years of people yelling at me for things completely out of my control, like an non-claimable loss. People resorting to using direct insults, cussing, berating…etc. when I am literally just the messenger. I’m a client service rep. Which means, unfortunately, I am the one people complain to. BUT that does lot mean I make the laws and rules on insurance. I am not the one in charge of statewide rate increases anymore than the cashier at the gas station is in charge of gas prices. It’s not okay to use me as your personal punching bag. It’s not okay to insult me and cuss at me. If you need to vent, then vent. I can even solve some problems if…
