People working Nightshifts is very convenient for the general public and it helps really helpfully for companies who need to boost their margins and need more productivity but dang. Working Nightshifts is not meant for humans. My body and mental stability is in constant disarray, I fell like I’ve developed many mental, social, and physical disorders from working Nightshifts. Might as well say goodbye to any friends or family cause you work all night and sleep all day. It makes me feel like my only purpose in life is the job because it becomes your only life experience, weeks pass by without a notice because it feels like your in the casino scene from the Poseidon movie. This is just horrible. I've been averaging 4 hrs of sleep per day since starting nights, which feels like torture.
TOTAL DESTROY
I have, and its disturbing. The homeless are already looked down upon, and while yes, some do have legitimate mental issues that can make them dangerous, it seems they are not the majority. What bothers me is that people I've met saying this are in either the middle class or upper class of society. I mean ffs, anyone can become homeless if they lose all their possessions or assets. This kind of talk should worry anybody. I'm usually not the one to classify things in this light, as I believe that it is a very serious accusation, but this reminds me of talk in Germany circa 1930s. It's actually this kind of talk that pushed me to the left, because I believe in human rights and right to life, over profits.
Getting notified that you will be laid off during the week of you birthday sucks. However, what hurts more is how I expressed interest in learning more skills from the company and motivated to prove my worth. It never mattered because my boss is lazy and doesn’t care about fostering talent and the higher ups were set that my position was not needed. Now I have a week before I am officially unemployed.
So I have a workmans comp question
My job ( security ) added an extra 3 miles onto my patrol a shift and I started noticing my knees steadily hurting more and more . I complained to a few coworkers but I never told my boss or went to a doctor for it . This week I went to a wedding and it made the injury worse to the point that now I can't walk on my left leg. I'm scared to report it to work and them say it's not their fault since it really is . I thought about faking it and reporting it during my shift tonight but I'm concerned I won't be able to walk far enough to make it convincing. What should I do I can't afford to get injured without comp and my insurance is pretty shitty

Told my company I couldn’t work Monday
So I'm a flagger, which has its perks and its downsides. I typically won't know if I'm working the next day until 1pm of the current day, but I can guarantee I won't be scheduled with bad weather. Well, the last 2 weeks we've been getting storms, so I haven't been scheduled more than 1 day a week. Friday rolled around, and they put me in a parking lot for 4 hours on Monday, tomorrow. I called immediately and told them I couldn't work it, I had other employment commitments. They asked if I was done with them; no, I'm just unable to work that Monday. They told me I have to give them 5 days notice of new employment and I laughed. They informed me they were taking me off the schedule. I expect a call on Monday from the owner, at which point I'll tell him I've started…
