We are both from poor backgrounds, but are well connected with the “elite” in the area as both of us attended and graduated through Catholic schools. We are both 40, and she just can't continue in her current career due to burnout(15 yrs)/general unhappiness/dealing with customers/toxic work environment etc. etc. etc. SEVERAL business owners (and friends) have a lot of clientele who need a house cleaner, and she really enjoys making things look immaculate if even for only a few seconds(2 dogs&10yo) We need something witty, humorous, eye catching. We don't want generic or corny I should also mention, her first and middle name are Mona Lisa(I shit you not) TIA!
So for the last couple of weeks we’ve had a new interim manager, I hadn’t seen or spoken to her yet since I work shifts and she is only there 2 mornings a week. Yesterday I was supposed to have a scheduled meeting with her, which she requested. Getting to know the team and what not. First of all it was set at 14:00 and then a couple of days before she changed the time to 10:00. Fine no problem. She walks into the office doesn’t introduce herself, gives me a literal nudge and says ‘yea our meeting might take place a little later, because I have to apply for something (non work related might I add). Fine no problem. 10:00 o clock passes and she sends her ‘assistent’ to inform me that the meeting will not take place because she is still trying to apply for her benefit. Sure……
New CSM is a piece of work
You know when you get a new manager, and you can just tell that he's a corporate asshole? Well, that's our new CSM. work at a grocery store chain. We just got a new CSM and so far, he's a piece of work. He hasn't even been here a week, mind you. I just met him for the first time the other day. I introduced myself, and he introduced himself. Then said, “Are you going to be my future assistant?” I replied, “Yes.” “I'll have to have a talk with you.” So, I go back to checking people out. It's a relatively slow day, not many customers. He comes up to me and another employee, and, instead of asking us politely to “redline” (which wasn't even needed because it's not busy at all, mind you) he asks us, “Have you guys seen our training videos?” We reply yes, and in…
Advice for Quitting a a Toxic Job?
I made the decision to move out of state because where I currently live has become unaffordable. I’m telling my job in a few days and trying to mentally prepare for myself. I’m going to ask to go remote but I already know the answer is no. This company has been referring to me as a manager for the past 6 months, but I do not have the official manager title or pay. I’ve also been working on a huge project, but I’m letting them know I’m leaving after the project is finished. The last manager that left with a notice was shunned and the CEO threw a fit. I know nobody at the company will see this coming. *Before anyone asks, I’m extremely grateful to have a husband who can support both of us while I’m looking for a new job, so I’ll be able to move regardless of…
[lawyers have been contacted] My partner asked for FMLA leave for burnout at the beginning of February which was given to others at their org. They were granted the 3 weeks they requested. In the same meeting they were told that their position had run out of funding and that they would not have a job when they came back from leave. They then got a severance agreement that read like an NDA and is only 1/2 months pay after being at this org for 3 years. NOW they get an email from their employer that they need to submit more documents for short term disability- something they never requested. It feels like the employer wants my partner on short term disability rather than give them severance. Anyone have experience with this? On top of the legal logistics it’s a lot to handle emotionally and wondering if anyone had some…
