I work in California, and we just had a blizzard. I live in the mountains and we got hit hard with snow, as well as unsafe road conditions (ice, mudslides, etc). I’ve had to call out of work 3 of the 4 days I was scheduled because I got snowed in. I was advised by my GM that I need to submit sick hours in order to excuse my absences. What’s going to happen when I’m actually sick and I need to use sick hours? Is this even legal?

When I got hired, it wasn’t based off of my resume it was just an informal in person interview and I’ve been working at this place for just over 5 years and I’m looking to get out. This place is a nonprofit aimed to help women, and I’ve had enough of it. Older women thinking they can push me around just for the sake of it. I’m the youngest woman here. The only time I was ever happy working here was when I had a part time working at a cannabis shop. Whenever I came back here I could just sense the older women hoping and trying to bring my mood down but they just couldn’t.
