Help w/ co-worker?
Hi, I'm not sure if this post belongs in this subreddit, but I have gotten great advice here just reading others posts, so I'm hoping to get an ear. I work in an office setting, with no current direct supervisor. I have an acting supervisor, who this post is about. When I started she wasn't my acting supervisor, and we were friends (or so I thought). About two months into the job, since they hadn't hired a supervisor, they made her my acting supervisor. Last week, she comes over to my desk and says, “Hey I just want to keep it real because I don't like when people talk about me behind my back, but I told our director that I wouldn't hire you for the position permanently because you lack the authoritativeness needed for this position.” She played it off as “constructive criticism”, but since she already gave me…
Corporations gearing up for potential recession as cost of living and inflation steadily increases. Ecological disasters as a direct effect of de-regulation. Every system from college to land ownership to healthcare feels like it's designed to put us into perpetual debt. With U.S. Approval of Labor Unions at Highest Point Since 1965 you would think there would be more movement from activists. Do you think there will be a time where the workers have had enough and larger tangible change comes about? Or do you think we are stuck in a boring dystopia?
Advice for first job
I just got a a job as a cashier at a fast food restaurant. I'm 23 years old and this is my first job ever due to my really extreme anxiety. Most of my coworkers/managers have been helpful and understanding in training me and showing me how to do things. Most of the time things have been going smoothly and I have learned and corrected any mistakes that I've made. However, I think that my GM does not like me. She has tried to show me how to do things but I have trouble hearing people, especially with how loud the kitchen is and with the music blasting. She also has an accent and speaks very quickly, I am often asking her to repeat herself more than once or not doing what she says immediately. I feel really awful about this, I am not trying to cause problems. She gets…
hi all ! recently things at work have been pretty awful and i went ahead and filed an eeoc claim. however, whenever i try to schedule an interview the site says there’s no appointments available, and when i call their phone number all i get is a busy tone ? what should i do next? i work at a small local store and the claim is against management and the owner so i can’t exactly go to them about it.
Hi, I work for place that makes the things that hold two pieces of metal together. I had started there at the beginning of last October. I did the training, got certified for the things I need to be certified in. The best part, I was never late and never missed a day. Each batch I am responsible for gets checked by the quality department to make sure it's up to snuff, I have yet to get a batch rejected by the quality department. When I finished training I was told I would get a 50 cent raise (huge raise right there). I completed training at the beginning of January, tomorrow is March and I still have yet to receive that raise. The company also gives everyone a raise at the beginning of the new year. Those raises just came out today, my coworker B (bless this man) showed me…
