Made $20.98 per hour at an old job and took these pictures. I was so depressed and angry to see how this company I worked for demanded so much of my time and tried to make us feel like we were paid really well. Working that hard and still not taking home enough money on 1 check to pay rent in Cali.

Told to “Smile More” by Customers lol

I had a middle age man tell me “I’m gonna give you some advice young lady, you need to smile more” when I was wearing a MASK lol He said it in a really condescending tone too. I just pointed at my mask and said nothing. I thought comments like this would stop when I wear a mask lol. I always try to be nice and polite with customers too lol so wtf?? I still get hit on my men over the age of 50 constantly who either talk about their ex wives or whose wives come in the next day (I’m in a pharmacy). And all this happens while I’m wearing a mask covering half my face and I’m not even hot. Then I spend the rest of the day getting screamed at by Karens or having men talk to me like I’m an idiot. And I’m expected to…

NFL player Damar Hamlin’s heart stopped after a hit on the field to the chest, and needed CPR and a defibrillator. NFL’s solution was to give the players a 5 minute break

Thankfully, the coaches agreed to tell Roger Goodell to fuck off and went back to their locker rooms until the NFL finally announced like 40 minutes later that the game was officially postponed. For those worried, it’s being reported that his heart is now beating but he’s not breathing on his own. He’s at one of the best trauma centers in the country and it sounds like he’s in good hands. Fuck the NFL for trying to force these players to play right after their teammate and friend basically died right in front of them.

Saw this on twitter. First of all, it’s such a sad mindset to me, second of all, what does he even do for work other than mistreat his employees? Thoughts?

Avoiding an 8-5 in Early Career

Hello, I am an upcoming college grad in the U.S. and I'm trying my utmost to avoid the pipeline into a corporate 8-5 job, since I don't believe in that way of life. I was wondering if I could provide some information about myself here and you all could try to help me figure out what to do. My goal is to have a career by which I can sustain myself and feel some sense of fulfillment and achievement while having a flexible, self-driven schedule so I can live my life. I've considered trying to work for myself, but I'm not sure on what skill I could base a career/what's out there for someone with my skills and interests. Maybe you all could help me a little with that, and thanks in advance for any responses. Here is some information: My degree is in mechanical engineering with a Chinese minor,…

Do good billionaires exist?

Billionaires become rich by exploring the people who work for them. That is a fact of life. However, some are better than others. The only billionaire I can think of who is a decent person is Oprah Winfrey. Are there any other billionaires who could be considered good people?

Those of you who have anxiety – what do you do for work?

I 25F have severe anxiety (in therapy for it) and I picked a pretty terrible job knowing this. I work in HR at a very intense financial services company. The culture is cut-throat, paranoid, and political. Everyone is always on-edge and it's like code red is being called when a mistake is made. I can't take it – every day I'm on the verge of a panic attack, and the idea of going back tomorrow makes me want to die. I've accepted that I'm not cut out for roles like this and I've reached my breaking point. I'm ready to quit but I first need another job lined up. I don't think I want to be in HR anymore even if it was at a different company, but I'm not sure. My mom told me I should work for the government and I think there could be potential there, but…
