Tittle sums it up. I’m part of lower level management. Had a management meeting cuz the current sales floor isn’t hitting their goals or putting effort in. The head honcho said…all of your pay checks are staying the same (cuz management is hitting their goals and numbers), but my pay check is going down(cuz overall company isn’t hitting their goals). Am I wrong for thinking that’s his problem and not mine? Very few people are making more profit for the the company and/or staying the same, including me. Should I tell him; well maybe you aren’t cut out for owning your company if you can’t take the loss. If someone can’t take the wins and losses in owning a company…they shouldn’t own a company in the first place?
Also tell them that they smell. One of the few opportunities you can do it, so you should do it. https://preview.redd.it/nz9lp430nska1.png?width=2876&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=74b535ee8fae6c92ff88dabac77d7ba3c0ff7a90
I realize this is the anti-work subreddit, so delete if not allowed, but I figure the best place to find ways to be a better boss is by asking the people that have been treated poorly by bosses/employers. I possibly have an interview for a big promotion. The manager leaving said I should expect a round of interview questions, but this boss also tends to talk out of two sides of her mouth and is definitely one of the worst managers I have ever had. That said, it's her job I might be taking, as she plans to retire soon. I've been a manager before, but it was some time ago, and this would be overseeing a much larger team with multiple departments. I've always been pretty laid back, fully letting my staff control their employees and manage their priorities as they saw fit – unless I genuinely needed to…
He’s right, you know
So i just started a job at a place that rhythms with yaco dell. I was working a 11 hour shift on Saturday, 12 to 11pm. It was about 930pm and i was so tired my feet were burning. I was beat. 2 people had called off and we were short handed but we got it done. So my general manager calls me over infront of everyone and says “hey i need you to stay till 1am, i need someone else here and your a shift lead” i was shocked. She didn't even ask if i would do it. She told me i had to stay after a already horrible 9 hour shift. I calmy said “can we speak about this in the office?” She said no and asked why i couldnt just say what i had to say. So i did. I told her i came into work today…
