I realize this is the anti-work subreddit, so delete if not allowed, but I figure the best place to find ways to be a better boss is by asking the people that have been treated poorly by bosses/employers. I possibly have an interview for a big promotion. The manager leaving said I should expect a round of interview questions, but this boss also tends to talk out of two sides of her mouth and is definitely one of the worst managers I have ever had. So i just started a job at a place that rhythms with yaco dell. I was working a 11 hour shift on Saturday, 12 to 11pm. It was about 930pm and i was so tired my feet were burning. I was beat. 2 people had called off and we were short handed but we got it done. Hi all! I'm handing in my resignation tomorrow and would like some input. For context, I live in the Netherlands and I have 1 month notice period. I've been working at this place for 2,5 years and it became really toxic about 5 months ago when my team leader quit amd was replaced by direct management. Since then, overtime has been demanded, many emergencies had to be solved by me despite not having the sufficient skills, every week we're reminded that we're not making our target goals no matter how hard we work, all in all it's time to run. I started working for this company in June and when December rolled around there was an email saying “we like to give our boss and the owner gifts during this time of year. there will be a large stocking owner's door where you can drop off socks” Then during the holiday potluck the boss received a self warming mug from the office. I thought that was nice. About a week later I got an email asking for reimbursement. I didn't think that was fair nor did we have to option and I didn't want to give my money for someone who I'm sure makes 3x what I make.
