No video but I quit my last job because I ended up running a company who started with about 6 people got up to 20 then 15 quit because of bs but the workload didn’t stop and it was my fault somehow.

So I'm in the process of relocating to another city, and I'm trying to pretty much find any job so I don't have to commute to my current job. With a background in the culinary field I figure if I need to, I can get something where I can just pay the bills until I find something that works for me. (side note: I have 10 years in the field doing fine dining or high volume.) One of these jobs I applied for was a supervisor position at Popa John's. During the interview they went over how I would have to start out in their starting position at 16$, and I would possibly be promoted if I worked hard enough. I’m on acquaintance level with my state senator due to the nature of my job. I hate his politics, but am a professional, so he’s none the wiser about it. Out of the blue his assistant emailed me asking me to document and compile a large amount of data that very few people would have access to. It would have involved at least a dozen hours of me googling, looking through records, and calling people. So I replied, “Hello, I would be happy to assist. My freelance rate is $20 an hour. For a project of this magnitude, I am able to estimate at least 12 hours of work. Please let me know if you would like to move forward and I will send a contract.” That rate is not even crazy, but I got radio silence from his office. As I suspected would happen. Multiple people have tripped over our loose carpets at work and tonight I was one of them. I rolled my ankle really badly and after 30 minutes or so I told my manager I needed to go home and ice it. Being one of only 3 salespeople on the floor he first asked if I was serious, then suggested I use our ADA wheelchair to continue work and it would help sales because of sympathy. I refused and said I would walk it off. After 45 or so minutes I realized it was bad, like I currently can barely walk bad. I went home and sure enough, it’s swelling and turning different colors. I’m going to call out tomorrow and get a ride to urgent care for this obvious sprain. My question is, how hard is it to get workman’s comp for an on the job injury in california?

This is my response to all my coworkers whenever they ask how I'm doing. A lot of them think it's a good thing but what I really mean and feel deep down is “god please let me git hit by a car so I don't have to deal with this anymore” Anyone else feel this?
