Alright i clocked out at 7:58 and my shift ended at 7:30 meaning I stayed over and worked. My employer rounds time. State rounding laws require if the employer rounds to round to the nearest 1/10th hour. USA Federal rounding laws apply here as well. What time should’ve the employer rounded to. Question being They rounded down to 7:52. Is this wage theft?
Imagine being sick for the 3rd time in 2 months. I had medical documents. Laws are different here from the US. Imagine laying in bed with 102 degrees Fahrenheit (39 in Celsius), taking your third antibiotic, covered in body aches, lost appetite and feeling overall miserable, calling 2 doctors at 10 pm and later on a whole ambulance (it's free here). Having to constantly update your team on your condition so they can plan on the next day who to take your daily tasks instead of having to frantically look for another employee last minute, just to be greeted with this message from a supervisor you personally trained (who became a supervisor 2 months after you trained them): “Same as before your every days messages are making us look bad as leaders in front of the rest of the team.” Make you look bad? For what? Getting sick? For keeping…
After a few attempts of getting the most politically correct replies i finally got it to share some of its thoughts about capitalism in the form of a movie scene. INT. A CROWDED COFFEE SHOP – DAY JOHN, a middle-aged man with glasses, sits at a table, sipping on his coffee. He looks agitated and deep in thought. JOHN (under his breath) It's just ridiculous. This whole system is built on exploitation and greed. How can we allow billionaires to exist in our world? Suddenly, John's friend, MARK, enters the coffee shop and approaches the table. MARK Hey, John! What's on your mind? JOHN (sighing) I'm just so tired of this whole system. It's absurd that a few people can accumulate so much wealth while millions struggle to make ends meet. MARK But isn't that just the way things are? Some people are just better at making money than others.…
My supervisor and I were leaving the parking lot at the same time when our cars touched on a tight fit. There was no damage to either cars, but my supervisor is claiming I was speeding and I hit her car. We were both leaving in a tight parking lot, it could easily be her fault as much as mine but the narrative is that I hit her. There is absolutely no space to even accelerate my car to the point of speeding. And I have another supervisor to witness the fact that I was not speeding. The supervisor called our manager and told her I was speeding and that I hit her car, to which the manager told her she will be sending me a disciplinary letter. I still haven’t received it yet. But is this an issue a disciplinary letter can be issued over? It has nothing to…
So as the title says. I suffer from a moderate to sever mental disability. The company had my medical documentation on file for a different accommodation since my date of hire. I noticed that this fall I was having some reoccurring issues with my mental health. I asked for a reasonable accommodation in November. It was ignored. I asked again in January and was directed to call a certain department. I called that day and got all the proper medical documentation turned in within 3 days. I asked that day what could be done until it is reviewed. That was ignored. Subsequently a hostile work environment was known about, cultivated, and worsened. My manager refuses to respond to reasonable accommodations. My manager then wrote me up on a final warning for hear say for supposedly telling my supervisor they will need to answer to their judge, (Did not happen, but…
I suspect that everything is overpriced by a factor of 2 in order to force people to work more and in order to increase the profits of the rich. A movie ticket 10 Dollars? Sorry but in 1999 it cost 5 Dollars and not much has changed to justify price increases. Perhaps the real price today should be 6 or 7 – the rest is just so that the rich can make extra profit. A gallon of milk 4.20? Sorry but in 2002 it cost 2.72 and not much has changed to justify price increases. Perhaps the real price today should be 3 or 3.5 – the rest is just so that the rich can make extra profit. A house? Sorry but in 2002 the average house price was 150 000 and not much has changed to justify price increases. Perhaps the real price today should be 200 000 or…
