Throughout my entire working career I've never fit in at any job. The stress has lead me to take antidepressants. It's gotten so bad I have to suppress a fight or flight response. When we went into lock down I only had to come in two days a week and I was alone those days. I really started to feel better. The stress just magically became more tolerable. But now that we are back to normal (completely ignoring covid) the stress is back. What is wrong with me? I'm sorry if this isn't allowed but you guys seem pretty tolerant of people like me.
Why Working Hard Leads To FAILURE
Job searching
I’m actively applying now while I’m still working at my current job. I’m legit having wetdreams about leaving my job and leaving them high and dry. They have at this point delegated the work of 4 people (who have been laid off) to me, and I am basically the cornerstone SME of a very specific area of the system. Everyone comes to me with questions on this shit, to the point where they have to call me when I’m on PTO to ask how to do something. I imagine it’s gonna be an amazing shit show once I put in my 2 week notice… I’m looking to leave because 1) noone appreciates or appreciated the work I put in, my only reward for good work is MORE work. 2) company is extemely unstable and we are outsourcing HARD so i can really be laid off any day (it would be…
I wouldn't say average pensions in Germany are great either, but there is rent control and public housing. Rent in the US is projected to rise another 10% 2022. After working till 67, how is anyone survive on that meager pitance? Do all eldars end up on the streets?
You literally never know when you are going to need this sort of evidence to protect yourself, and I am constantly seeing examples where this would be useful on this sub. They are lightweight, free apps, and there are plenty of them. Please install one today.
Teacher pay in the US is comically low. But I feel entirely unable to help in any meaningful way. When we have local or state ballot initiatives for school, they are always for amorphous “improvements” or “mental health” or “building new facilities” and the like. It never seems to make a difference in teacher pay. How can I help most? Is teacher pay generally a state issue? A local issues? A school board issue? What is the most direct means of supporting higher pay for teachers?
Arbitration Agreement Requirements
I'm posting at the suggestion of another redditor based on a comment I made on this post but also regarding another post a few days ago praising In and Out. Basically I stated that my son was also required to sign an agreement that he would not sue and would arbitrate with the company itself. I was extremely put off by this document when I read it and could not believe it was legal. They do offer an option to remove your acceptance in writing after you're hired, but we all know what would happen then and this was part of his paperwork he had to fill out prior to actually being hired and scheduled. So despite the praise In and Out was receiving, they still have shady practices just the same as other corporations. I am very interested to see how many other companies require this in order to…
