I work for one of the largest private companies in the US. I am the only person who does what I do and I'm an expert at it. I also have a dual-role so I'm doing the job of multiple people. They refused to assign a SME under myself and put all of their eggs in one basket with me being the only expert for the entire company. I started reflecting in December and realized that they were not supporting me in my professional development and had actually said “No” to every single request I made for continuing education or opportunities to learn more about the industry because a lot of it is new to me. They also lied to me about the reason they said no. I manage the entire program but was explicitly excluded from a meeting with the CEO of the program company. That was the breaking…

Seeking advice!
Team performance is very poor and under pressure from top management team. Direct supervisor has decide to go full micromanaging mode, dismissing employee opinions and comments during meeting because he know it all. The behavior is borderline harassment with lots of belittling comments adding unnecessary stress. Is it worth to reach to HR to denounce this behavior? If yes what should be included in the email?
My experience in fast-food as a teenager
Since the Starbucks baristas are on strike, and a few recent posts about child labor have been posted recently, I thought now was as good a time as any to share my experience working at Dunkin Donuts. From the ages of fourteen to eighteen I worked at a local Dunkin Donuts. This is fifteen years ago, I am not looking for support or help. The experience is long behind me. I am sharing this to highlight abuses and illegal behavior. The more employers we hold accountable the better conditions become for everyone. I was hired at the New Hampshire minimum wage, $6.55 (circa 2007) and was told then when I finished training I would get a raise. National minimum wage increased to $7.25 shortly after. After a month I asked my manager when I would get a raise since I was done with training. She explained that the minimum wage…
Raise & Bonus
Context – My manager has been working here at this Fortune 500 company for over 20 years. i started Mar 2022 and my 1st time going thru the review process here. I ask about bonus/when does the bonus come/raise . When – I was advised the end of Feb and you find out about 2 days before the bonus is given and the same email will have the whether or not you get a raise. She advised she finds out about herself also about 2 days before because it comes from above her. Raise – I was advised that since she has been working here there have been years she has not gotten a raise hereself. She advised in 2008 recession no one got a raise at all. She advised the company considers your base + bonus generous and you do not always get a raise. (A bonus is not…
Just turned 19 looking for my first job
I've applied to a few retail places and either haven't gotten any response or rejected without an interview. I don't have any prior work experience and I'm working on getting my HSED. For context I have a learning disability and didn't get diagnosed until my senior year. I didn't do any sports or clubs in high school, I'm still working on my social skills. I'd love to hear advice on how to get at least an interview, especially from those who may have been in the same boat previously. I'm feeling pretty dejected recently and some help would be greatly appreciated.
And now the cops are calling for “calm”? This should be the final straw, I hope it is. They are killing us financially and physically. We have to fight back. If not now, when?
Fired At Will(Kansas)
I am a former employee of a First Watch in Kansas. The basis of the situation is that I feel wrongfully terminated & I understand that Kansas is an at will employment state. On Sunday, December 18th at the end of my shift General Manager(GM) verbally told me to come in the following Tuesday, December 20th @ 9AM. My first shift was on Wednesday, December 14th so I had just a couple of days to begin learning the processes of cooking at the cafe, although I had received many compliments from some my fellow line cooks & servers in my short time there. The training process was very unorganized, it felt at times they were only filling me in doing whatever prep they needed instead of trying to educate me on the line so I received little time to grasp the concepts. When I arrived on Dec 20th @ 9AM…
