Have a non-employee take pictures and report to Fire Marshall. They approve permits with minimum aisle spacing (same for storage areas), and have authority to shut down stores. May not work in small towns, but there are ever increasing durations and fines. Dollar General will grudgingly repeat cycle. fix/regress/complain/pay/open
Like seriously ? Serious question. I’ve never had any reasonable managers or bosses, and if I did have a reasonable manager they either would get fired or quickly quit Cus they wouldn’t do what the higher ups wanted them to do. It’s almost a universal experience that someone’s boss or manager is satans hell spawn and is hell bent on making everyone’s life miserable. Do these positions require a lack of human compassion and decent and thus attracts and employs these soul sucking demons , or does the position mold people into not caring ? Genuinely curious Cus I’ve noticed good bosses and managers don’t last long
The CFO said “For those of you that are not my age (assuming he means 45-50+ years old), inflation does go down or negative…. And even though we know our younger work force has only seen inflation go up, that it actually goes down too, and has to go down eventually” Are you kidding… you just told the younger generation of workers that, even though we have only struggled with wages, saving money, and paying living expenses… that you are justifying not increasing our COL to match inflation because it’ll eventually go down?! And tell us to just “hang in there, you’ll eventually be Ok”? You wonder why the attrition rate is growing… Edit 1: talked to a co-worker and she pointed out even more frustration (as a lot of us know), that the people making the decisions are blurring lines between COL and Merit increases…. COL should at least…
Hey wait, it’s inflation purposes! /S
Go watch thesixfigureserver on tik tok, specifically his part 2 video about how drastically service would change if tips went away. (Even though they never will in the US) Also part 1 is spot on on how nobody would be saving money, servers would just leave the industry for being paid less.
PTO policy
I'm not going to name the company I work for because I live in an at will state and I, unfortunately, need this job. I just found out, after working here a few years, that my company has a PTO policy in place where if we call out on a day for any reason they will pull from our PTO to cover that time off. BUT we still get an attendance occurrence and they will take days you already have approved off. I just found this out because I had to call out and I was informed they were taking a day from my already planned and approved Christmas vacation. I was also informed that I may still get that day off it would just be unpaid but since it's unpaid that would be another occurrence.
Lazy shift leads why do we have them
This is the reason why I was trying to learn everything because if I ask her if I’m doing something correctly she says “oh I’ll just do it.” Also they are teaching this other new girl more stuff than me. I don’t know if the owner is gonna replace me or fire me. This was all because the actual manager treated me like trash from day 2 and that other girl. I almost quit and didn’t show up to work. Of course the owner knew. They barley teach me anything. I have to ask the only shift lead who will actually help me and care about how I’m doing the job. She’s the only one who teaches me new things that I should learn. Meanwhile everyone teaches the new girl. It’s not my fault that everyone decided to not like me. I was first harassed by the manger and singled…
