Finally got a new job, bait and switch
Finally got a new job, it sounded great, was in a field I’ve been working in for a few years, and had good growth potential. Too bad everything they said about the job isn’t accurate, day to day responsibility, and schedule being the main ones. Day two and I already want to quit but I need money. Back on indeed for me
Fired Before I Was Done My Shift
I originally was going to post this on the subreddit r/offmychest But, decided here was better. I use to do house cleaning for a decently sized company. I was cleaning at this individuals house with about an hour left. I hear my phone ding and I look at it. They had sent me an email stating they were firing me. At first I was just in shock but before I knew it I was crying pretty hard, to the point of hyperventilation. Normally when I get fired I can take it well but, the fact that I was in a house with people whom I did not know and had to continue my job was all too much. They did own up to the fact that they had made a mistake but that was only after I had called them. They somehow didn't know I was still at a job.…
Email list addition.
I didn’t spend all that time applying for a job with your company just to get no response and an automatic addition to your email list! I’m absolutely sick of this practice in particular. Maybe if I had a job I would be a lot happier to spend money on whatever it is you’re trying to sell me. But the fact that you are trying to sell me something simply because I applied for a job with you makes me absolutely disgusted.
I'm a single mom who recently started struggling financially. I do everything right: going to school, working full time, being a good mom. I cut corners and try hard to be responsible but started struggling with rent and food so I finally said screw it. I just applied for food stamps yesterday but when I applied this summer I got denied for making barely too much. I did just get a second job so I'm hopeful things will turn around quickly but I don't start till Saturday so I won't be getting paid for a while. I guess I just needed to get this off my chest by confiding to strangers on the Internet since no one in my life knows. I'm really careful about it- I use a fake first name, and none of my clients know where I live or work. I've only done it a few times…
“This job is your LIFE”
Just had a job interview that was nothing but red flags. Highlights include: “This job needs to be your life” “I know you applied for marketing but we're going to start you off doing sales instead” “This isn't a 9-5 place” If you want me to live & breathe the business you better be making me a partner. I'm not sacrificing my personal life for your profits
