I’m looking to quit my job asap because of irrecoverable differences. I’m hoping to do this within about two weeks but I want to have employment lined up. I’m a daily news reporter so I have those skills that translate somewhat into marketing. But I’m looking for anything. A bonus would be if it offers health insurance but not required. The more pay the better, but really I’m looking for speed in getting this new job. Thanks for any advice.
When I used to work at subway
I’d have to use the bathroom a lot at least 2 times every hr or so they made me put my phone up when I went to go I got a message one day saying I was fired because the employees and managers felt uncomfortable that I’d go to the bathroom every hr and that they have said something already about the bathroom ordeal I had already told them I had stomach issues I even had a doctor note for it.
Because of the stress around applying to college, I ended up having probably the worst anxiety attack I ever had at work last night. Around 7pm, it hit me and I had to go cry in the bathroom for a bit. Took me probably another hour to work up the ability to let someone know. I work as a food runner and it was pretty busy, so there were a lot of us there, so no one noticed I was missing for most of that time. I finally let my shift lead know what was happening, and she said I could sit in the break room while she talked to the manager. Usually, the managers are very nice and understanding, so I figured they’d understand and let me leave. By then, I really wasn’t needed there. Long story short, I didn’t get home until 11. As anyone who struggles with…
4 day work week, thoughts of am employee
My company, on Monday is having people work Sunday-Wednesday and Wednesday-Saturday from 7am-5pm. I personally have no qualms with this set up. I just don't see it working long term, seeing as we have black Friday and cyber Monday coming up, and we are a computer building company. Half of the reason most people wanted to work here were the benefits, which are not many: insurance (that we pay for, naturally), it was M-F 8am-5pm with an hour long unpaid lunch and two 15 minute paid breaks, and weekends off, we are losing basically all benefits, but it gives everyone 3 days off a week. Our software for orders sucks and needs an update, and I feel like that could resolve 80% of the problems we have with the company. They also only gave us about 4 days before springing this on us, so that's a little annoying. This is…
I've worked for a certain large chain hardware retailer for a good portion of my 20s. Both fulltime and part time. I could operate every machine in the store, all the equipment (saws, cutters etc), held an occupational first aid level 3 that I paid for and offered first aid service at no extra charge for them (including staying late), worked in half the departments, always took overtime and extra hours while I'm in school and working a second job. And after a long long period of “quiet quitting” (realizing how ungrateful the company is and deciding to do what I want) I just walked out today. Never ever going back. The main thing I took issue with was my wage, I was getting 17.50 where as new hires where getting 18.50. Getting paid more than me while I TRAINED THEM. they refused to raise my wage… fine then no…

is it selfish to back out of a career?
I was initially going to major in elementary school education because I wanted an easy degree. Turns out I didn't like it and failed some classes. In Texas where I live being a teacher pays terribly anyway. I changed fields with the goal of eventually becoming an engineer. I love my classes now and have never been happier. Engineering pays a good salary. I can breathe a sigh of relief knowing I'll be able to afford my bills and fulfilling life goals like traveling the world, buying a house, getting married and having kids. I couldn't do all that on a teacher salary. Some suggested that I become a high school math teacher instead of an engineer. I refused. I got called an awful selfish person for wanting a well paying career that I somewhat enjoy and gets respect in society. So is it wrong of me to become an…
