I made the stupid mistake of letting the overlords at my stupid customer service job know that I was currently going back to school. Now suddenly I am unable to access my college’s website or other studying materials and they are saying that this block as always been in place and it’s in order to protect customers. The funny thing is that I am only one of my coworkers experiencing this block since the rest of them plan to stick with the company. Just so fucking done with them, I work from home so I’ll just use my laptop. It will make things harder but I am not going to let them win by limiting my study and homework time so I’ll drop out since I can’t keep up.
I was hired in to my job in February as a remote customer service agent. Today during our meeting, they were saying they want people to return to the office. I was never IN the office to begin with. Can they do that? Also, I was given a 2000 dollar retention bonus, if they force me to go “back to the office” do you think that voids my retention bonus agreement to pay it back? I am not going to go “back” into an office when I was initially hired to work from home, full time.

You are being bullied
Please remember that the reason people are giving you shit right now is because you are attempting to stand up for yourself at work, which is an environment in which bullying of the worker by the employer is supported. It is bullying. You're standing up for yourself and the bully is getting upset. The bully sucks, and deserves no respect, but will still try to intimidate you, because that's the tool they have. Bullies are intimidated by strength in numbers. 🙂
