I know not all obviously, but some women say this and to me it seems incredibly dumb. Why do you care about a dollar amount in a partner? As long as they are able to provide for themselves why does it matter? And even if they can’t provide for themselves and are barely scraping by, isn’t that understandable considering the state of the world right now? You can have preferences fine, but a lot of women seem to look down on men who are struggling financially and I don’t get it. And men are apparently shallow for liking women for their bodies???? Whaaaaat?????
Got a new job and I have my first training day tomorrow for 2.5 hours. 2 hours are paid as the other 30 mins is for an unpaid break. They have requested arrival from 1 hour prior to the start time due to assistance with admin, inductions and logins. Not sure why they're asking for an earlier attendance when it's unpaid. It's my first time in 5 years of working in retail that I've experienced this. Will I be okay if I turn up when the paid time starts rather than arriving an hour earlier as they have requested? I mean, what could they say against me for not arriving an hour earlier when I'm not getting paid for it? Just my nerves a bit all over the place as I'm on the fence about this one. Don't want to step on anyone's toes on the first day.
Can/Do I do something about this?
Every couple of months we connect with the managers about our concerns, strengths, weakenssses etc. for some reason this assignment never would show up in my work portal, we always had to do it some other way. It wasn’t til a couple days ago my manager told me she found out the reason was because she forgot to change me from seasonal ( I began last year this time around ) to regular associate in the system . Because she just changed it in the system now, it automatically gave me a pay raise with a 70cent difference. (What regular associates make) What should i do? Is there anything I can do? I Can really use any money if I’m able to get compensated somehow for all this time I went without getting paid my corresponding position title pay. Any advice is appreciated.
Really wishing I could love my job.
I got a new job a few weeks ago and I’ve been struggling so hard to come to terms that I’m probably never going to have a job I fully enjoy. This new job is easy, basically barista work for a small franchise (owners still loaded asf $$$), but god damn, they are so frustrating. The owners are a husband and wife duo, who runs things alittle different because they are foreign but the language barrier is almost never there, which is fine. What isn’t is when they both trained me at the start on different days, and constantly contradict eachothers training. Aka like today for example. I’ve been a manager since they forced me to open my third day of work. Today I didn’t mop and said in the work chat for the workers to please mop that night. The reason why I didn’t is because the male owner…
There's a new job I'm applying for and they requested interviews with 5 people, 30 min each. Already asking for 2.5hr of my week is a lot, but it's not the end of the world and I need a job. What is pissing me off is I've now interviewed with 4 different people and somehow not a single one could tell me the salary range, despite me asking each interviewer. Also they all have the audacity to look annoyed that I'd even ask but that's a whole other problem. I feel like interviewers forget (or don't care) that I am also trying to decide if they are a good fit for me and a big factor in that decision is whether they will pay me enough to survive (and maybe if I'm lucky, move out of my parents house). I feel like it's insane to withhold that information from a…
Enjoyed seeing all the hilarious moronic texts and workplace notices from shitty employers but now all I’m seeing is anti Elon spam. The company was losing millions per day, and had an extremely bloated workforce. Ur aware that a website can be run by 5 or 6 engineers in a small office right? Dosnt require thousands of people playing foosball in an oversized complex with bean bags and it’s own coffee shop/restaurant.
I've worked 2nd shift in the finishing department of MasterBrand Cabinets for two years. There are 6 people in the department out out 35 who've been on 2nd shift longer than me. We're getting called to attend an all associates meeting before start of shift on Monday. There's talk of layoffs and of merging 1st and 2nd shift into 1 shift. I wouldn't mind working days, but I don't like the idea of losing my $0.80/hr shift differential. Any advice of things I should know before going in on Monday? Note: This is in Oregon.
