We were told a while back that the staff for our schools were fighting for thuer right to benifits and better pay. I tottaly get why and want to stand behind them untill it became clear my job was now put at risk. I work with a third party that dose the crossgaurd and cafiteria work for the schools in this area. We are not part of the union. It became clear that we might not be able to keep hold of our minimal wage paying jobs. Specialy if they block people from getting inti the school. If we dont work then we don't get payed. My manager who has been great with me despite all my disability issues, has been seeing a influx of resignations with no one wanting to be hired. Due to them wanting job security which i tottaly understand. Though its now leaving us all short…
I got booked for a simple 1 day gig for Halloween and the company wants me to do an unpaid meetings in the evening beforehand that’s “30-40 minutes”… maybe 2? As we like to say in New York “go fuck yourselves”
Can utility companies ask for your job?
I'm getting oil and this company wants me to put my employer on the form. Can I tell them to mind their buisness?
Hi there people. I think that, despite me not wanting to be in this situation, there really aren't a lot of people who fit this subreddit's anti-work moto as much as I do. It wasn't easy to write all of this (emotionally speaking) but there it is, my little story. I'm sorry it's a little long, but I really couldn't make it any shorter. First off, I need to mention that I have asperger syndrom (although you wouldn't notice if easily unless you knew me well), and it clearly had an impact. I was diagnosed when I was 30 years old. Anyways, here we go: -Graduated at 27 years old with a master's degree from a top 8 business school in my country -spent 80% of the next 6 years unemployed due to how difficult it was to find a proper job / career start at the level of my…
YES I'm sure this topic has been discussed many times on this sub but FFS I'm so tired of worker's being blamed and companies not taking accountability. I have finally landed a new remote job. Don't get me wrong it's nice and the pay is decent. Everyone is super nice however, the title of my position has changed about 3 times so far again not complaining as I am grateful to have found a decent job but it's absurd for companies to b*tch and moan about “no one wants to work” and blame everyone but themselves for the stuff they pull. Such as, calling a position customer service then it turns out to be sales, prying for personal information during the interview process that's none of their business, promising a certain amount of weeks training just for it to be less than, etc….it's absurd. Why trap people into thinking it's…
Today I was fired for calling in sick
Today I called in sick for a legitimate reason and had to endure a 5 minute barrage of accusations, guilt trips and manipulation. 30 minutes later got a text saying my other shift this week had been covered and my P45 was in the process of being issued. Boss is very intense and generally uses coercion and scare tactics to get her way. I think I dodged a bullet there.
